going into an offseason as a restricted free agent when, like, two or three teams have any real cap space must be the worst for players and their agents. "oh, you want more money? go get an offer sheet from the nets, then!"

i would not be surprised if goodwin is claimed off waivers.

we talked about this on last night’s pod when pete brought it up, but i’d be very interested in finding a good offensively titled guard to replace gabe. especially if it also helps them keep goodwin. i think it would balance some of the lineups & help facilitate vando getting more minutes.

lakers have waived shake milton & are now 3.9m under the 1st apron, need to clear more space to sign smart using the biannual exception. easiest path is to waive goodwin. more hopeful path is to make a consolidation trade that saves them about 3m in salary so they can open a roster spot + free up $.
