スズメってこの時期になると成鳥も嘴の基部の色が黄色に変色して、元々嘴の基部が黄色かった幼鳥と見分けがつきにくくなる。細かくいうとスズメ成鳥の多くは嘴の色が冬から春は黒一色、夏から秋は基部の色が黄色というサイクルで年間を通して変色するので、これからの時期見られるスズメは嘴の基部から黄色のスズメばかりになる。というのがわたしの印象なのだけど実際どうなのだろう。 写真は先週末に撮ったスズメの多分成鳥。 #Birds Taken in Tokyo, Japan
