Watching the Ark today. It's got a great concept behind it, but between the wobbly styrofoam sets, inconsistent plot, next to non-existent world building, deus ex machina at every turn, and characters that are all one dimensional high school cut-outs; it's almost painful to watch.

Watching Strange New Worlds. I'm liking that the season plot is the same as Pratchett's Moving Pictures, right down to the level of having secret guardians of a prison full of demons, brought by destiny to be in the right place at the right time. But Pratchett did that as a joke.

On Radio 4 is a "panel of experts" in criminal justice. The cost of UK GICs is about £24m a year. Most is spent *preventing* medical transition. The cost of HRT is less than paracetamol. There are about 45,000 on the wait lists. £24m/year could cover everyone's HRT, tests, etc. but they'd prefer to use it stopping us transitioning 🤷‍♀️

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Does earth's weight change? First I'll assume we mean mass not weight. The mass increases due to asteroids etc. and the sun's energy adding mass. The mass decreases due heat radiated and atmosphere evaporating. Otherwise, E=mc^2 means you can't get rid of mass or energy.
