OTD British Earthquakes: Wales’ only fatal ‘quake. 12 Dec. 1940 M4.7 Porthmadog, Northwest Wales. Mrs Williams of Criccieth, awoken, panicked, fell down stairs and died. John Thomas of Nefyn died of heart attack (the next day) ‘on account of the extreme loudness of the noise’. (Musson 2003). 🧪⚒️
