I did my first “official” swim for triathlon training yesterday. A few observations: - Overall the swim was a LOT tougher than I expected - 25 yd pool is way longer than I thought it’d be - My dumbass didn’t do any dynamic stretching ahead and my left foot cramped up in the 2nd of 4 intervals

I think the older woman helping me out at the Y was 🤯 when I said I didn't need a membership tag, I just needed a photo of the barcode. Her: “A barcode photo?” I showed her how I created a Smart Activation lock screen that, when I'm at the YMCA, uses the photo of the barcode on the lock screen.

New ⛷️🏂 helmet and goggles. It was time. Helmet features a magnetic snap buckle and BOA dial for a more precision fit. Looking forward to wearing a thinner cap. Goggles have a dual magnetic snap as well as locking levers for a tight and secure fit on the lens.

Last day of work today and then off for a couple weeks of ⛷️ and 🏂, with Whistler gay ski week (aka Winter Pride) there at the end. Event organization changes means likely no parties this year, but we’ll see. Furrocious, the leather/gear/kink party was always a good time.

It’s going to be a quiet New Year’s Eve at home. Using the good china (Kate Spade) and the good crystal (Waterford) wine glasses. And then there’s the napkin rings, which I’m convinced were repurposed medieval c*ck rings. Menu: salad and then Cornish game hen, sautéed asparagus, and wild rice.
