I'm not going to go to town on bodywork on this kit but for short run the main parts go together pretty painlessly. Top wing root join is pretty clean and the canopy seems pretty snug without glue as well. Bit fearfull of the engine cowls but we'll see how it goes #bastillebuild

Well March ended up not being a productive month when it comes to scale modelling so I didn't end up finishing the naiad in time. Still, it's a nice kit and I think it's going to turn into a very nice finish in the end. Messy workbench pic to show where I last left it last week. #histscalemodels

Speaking of good customer service. I thought the mistakes on the fuselage here were my own. Gothaforce reached out saying there's something wrong with the decals and I will be getting a new kit. Meanwhile MBK has ordered replacement parts for my pontos models Roma set. 👍 From me. #histscalemodels

Haven't really been posting any updates but work is continuing on the 3d printed Fokker D.VII. The kit has its issues but overall the fit and this magical not so brittle resin is making this kit certainly no more trouble than any styrene kit covered in lozenge. #histscalemodels

So this is the Pontos detail up set for the R.N. Roma and wow. 650 printed parts, load of the thinnest PE I've seen. Most of the superstructure is replaced. Still, what appears to be a modeller friendly design. Some parts are damaged but I'm sure MBK or Pontos will sort me out. #histscalemodels

Mercedes d.iiiaü coming along nicely. Needs weathering but otherwise complete. All wires etc are part of the kit.. quite clever. #histscalemodels

So I was quite excited and just started this the day after I got it. It's the gothaforce fokker d.vii. I got the Rudolf Stark livery. The single piece cockpit scared me a little bit when I saw it but I must say it wasn't all that hard in the end, only one minor break. #histscalemodels

The fact that this was just 3 months ago is crazy to me. The body is capable of a lot of healing. I don't have full range of motion and strength quite yet but it barely bothers me in daily life now.

That's the #FestiveTankChallenge completed in 8 days. Overall not dissatisfied with the dusty north African Sherman here. I definitely want to do another cast hull Sherman in the future by another brand and spend some more time on it because I like she shape a lot. #histscalemodels

Ready for primer, the turret was a lot more straightforward than the lower hull. Applied some cast texture to hide a seam- and a moldline. Tracks are panzerwerk t-48 which I think is possibly accurate but t-51 were more likely. #festivetankchallenge #histscalemodels

Started the #FestiveTankChallenge today. Borders m4a1 mid, so far it's been pretty "mid" itself. Pretty vague fit at places and the bogies were far more painful than they need to be. The surface texture is pretty nice though. I'm thinking of doing weenie one for the scheme #histscalemodels

While awaiting replacement AA for the Takao bow Ive started work on the Missouri. Some turret PE and paintwork done. Seems like a more straightforward project to be honest! #histscalemodels #scalemodels

That's most of the bridge superstructure ready for paint. Again any PE omitted is my own inability but I feel like I'm getting better at it. Most of the railings sit pretty straight. Looks good to the naked eye compared to zoomed in on photo 😁 #histscalemodels #scalemodels

A lot of PE and dry fitting I'm closing in on getting some paint on the main midship(?) walkways for the Takao. I am rarely but occasionally opting to use plastic over PE to ensure some rigidity as I need it because of the camouflage scheme. In all grey it would have been easier. #histscalemodels

Takao's rear mast was quite a challenge but I think it's looking okay. Still needs the crane attached though. #histscalemodels

Work on the Takao has begun. Lower hull mostly done and painted up, torpedoes made up ready for paint and then onwards to the superstructure. Lots of PE and resin ahead 🫠 For the colours I use mr color IJN type 21 and IJN type 22 (c604 and c605) camouflage. #histscalemodels

I was rather impressed by Very Fire's Takao. Now, I am even more so. Their Missouri kit came out before 3d printing was ready. So they went back to their old kit and replaced all the oerlikons, Bofors and all other resin cast parts with brand new designed and printed parts. #histscalemodels

I managed to finish this up with my left hand (kinda ambidextrous). Not my magnum opus perhaps but I like the variation in the OD. So that's the #HeaviesGB finished for me.

The b-17 and all other things will be on hold for the foreseeable future. I broke my collarbone pretty badly and they want to operate on it. That should get me back good as new but it's my right arm so I'll be off the bench for a while. #heaviesGB

Very fire 1/350 Takao with detail-up set. Plastic is very good, PE generally thought about not being too bad (mostly) and tiny but brilliant 3d printed stuff. I'm quite impressed. Cat approval is also there. #histscalemodels

Working on the b-17 by hkm and seeing how little you can see of it once completed I have decided not to go for perfect. If it looks busy in there that's good enough. I also noticed how the interior colours of the b-17 are quite a can of worms. Going BG cockpit with aluminum otherwise. #HeaviesGB

Well crap during a regular dusting of places the landing gear of my mig-31 gave way. It wasn't the first time, the part where the vertical leg matches up with the piece that the wheels go into is a bit of a weak spot. I hope the mostly recast SAC landing gear can get her back up on her feet though.

As I'm waiting for my heaviesgb kit to arrive I finally completed the Amusing Hobby T-90A full interior. Provided at the end is a photo of one Ukraine captured and put to use. I loosely based my kit around it. #scalemodels

Amusing Hobby's kf-51 demonstrator built a month or two ago. Pretty painless kit and comes with a mask set. Fun short build even with the somewhat daunting looking fully workable tracks. #scalemodels

WIP on the hull interior of amusing hobby's t-90a. Though not faultless, I'm quite impressed by this kit so far. Especially the tracks which are workable, click fit, two parts per link headache free. Torsion bar suspension is also functioning though no poly caps for the wheels.

Pz.IV is almost done but while the enamels and oils are drying I went ahead and started with the amusing hobby t-90a interior kit which I will do in a captured scheme with Ukrainian yellow on the fume extractor as seen in the last photo. #scalemodels

Base coat on, using atom for the first time in anger. Pretty decent if not quite there for me. A lot less smelly though and nice coverage can be built up. I'm not convinced this will ever freehand as nice as MRP, however but that's ok. Side skirts still dry fitted. #histscalemodels #scalemodels
