Huaiyan had missed this too. Watching Yingxing grow up into a fine young man, watching how he became everything. It had been something that eased this old timer's heart. He'd never turned his back on Yingxing, even after he became Blade. "What is it? I will do my best to accommodate it for you."

Ever since Yingxing had arrived on the Zhuming as that terrified and traumatised child, Huaiyan had taken him under his wing and raised him as well as a man thrust into a terrible war could. And oh, how proud he was to see that child grow up, to find likeminded folk and to excel in his own craft

Huaiyan didn't care. He was meant to have retired long ago. The old General didn't give a single fuck about what would happen if General Yao or Feixiao saw. This was his boy. No matter what, in his eyes, Yingxing was the Pride of the Zhuming, his most talented apprentice.

Huaiyan looked upon the Forgemaster quietly for a few moments, before stepping forwards and pulling him up into a hug. "I do not know what is going on... or how you've returned but..." He sounded choked up. "Yingxing..."

Gasps. Is this old man seeing things? Is that...?

He is drinking his tea peacefully like an old man does.
