I think there's a void in current AI/LLM commentary being exploited the booster bros: neuroscience. There is plenty of commentary from the comp sci crowd exposing the secrets of genAI magic tricks, but the bubble withstands the pin prick, because people go "that's also how the brain works!"

Not much for me to say about DK Bananza besides it looks awesome and I really hope it's a fully 4K 60fps game. I will say a lot of the color palette mixed with the destructive environments and terraforming you can do reminds me of how you interact with the environment in No Man's Sky of all things.

One game that I haven't really seen people compare Mario Kart World to yet is the PS2 launch title Smuggler's Run! A Rockstar published open-world driving game that came out before GTA 3. While it definitely had tech demo vibes, it also had tons of weird little secrets that were a blast to find.

Never forget

It's confusing to me how ambitious certain locations of Infinity Nikki are while still centering around a really bland (but still pretty!) hub area. The first handful of major missions feel like actual levels in a video game. Basic levels sure, but would definitely fit in a single player game.

As strange as it may sound, one of my personal resolutions this year is to post ~more~ on social media. So this is me starting to do that. This may be for the worst, but lurking gets boring after a couple decades, you know?
