Both my boys Kaine and Aristide are #4, but the Calamity did royally mess that one up for them, and then MSQ happened.

Kaine’s father was a fisherman by trade and also in Maelstrom, so their income was modest at best. He is still moderate/frugal with things to this day. Aristide’s father was an Adder healer, and his mother is a botanist, so that would put them at maybe middle class-ish, they were okay enough.

Kaine is a leftie, and Aristide is ambidextrous, like me ^.^

Kaine: doesn’t drink, at all. He was goaded once into drinking years before ARR and haaatted it, ended up in a bad fight, and said nope never again. Aristide: had a BAD problem with it up until late HW, and has eased off a lot. He spent most of ARR/HW a “functional drunk” much to everyone’s dismay.

Kaine is an early bird and will wake with the sun no matter what, and make everyone a full bfast. His wife Arlyra would sleep all day if you let her. Aristide loves his pillows a s blankets almost if not just as much as he loves Emoni. He has to be drug out of bed half the time XD

Kaine’s currently back at home in Thavnair w/his wife and kids (between MSQ) and is half-retired. Arlyra is actually doing more in Tulliyolal/S9 tbh. Aristide is hardly involved, and is in Sharlayan, he did take a vacay but went back, and is otherwise the babysitter uncle for Kaine.

As of DT, Kaine is about 36yo, and Aristide is about 33yo. I’ve kind of kept my timeline for the expacs about the same timeline as how long the game’s gone since ARR, give or take.

Haven’t been up to much and wanting to post more character art I’ve actually done. I have several more WoL postcards that are unfinished I need to get to painting, but so far have finished ones for my boy Aristide, and two XIV buds’ WoLs Emoni and Rose that I did a while back.

Kaine took several weeks overall to recover from his injuries and exhaustion. Aristide suffered a deal more, having given so much aether to cure Kaine after all the battles and everyone else, that he nuked his echo and ability to channel aether ever again, to current MSQ, he can cast minimally now.

My main WoL, Kaine, would be from coastal, VA, around the Hampton-Newport area. My alt OC, Aristide, would be from western NC, around the Asheville area.

My son Watson had to have a small infection treated this week and he got the donut of shame. He has been so pitiful. The most dramatic child. I love him, never change.

Kaine wears leather wraps around his horns that are threaded with beads and small mementos he collects as he travels, and a bracelet made from the handle wrap of his father’s spear. Aristide wears several earrings, and a necklace that is the blood lily, crafted for him by his partner Emoni.

For a WHILE, there was some beef between Kaine and Magnai from STB-halfway into EW. And then Magnai met Kaine’s sister. Now they are in-laws. XD

Kaine has straight up claws (I use claws of the beast glam on him) and he keeps them tidy. I HC they are just naturally black like his scales/horns Aristide does his nails regularly and obsesses the upkeep. Design-wise irl he’d be a french tip girlie or the holo/sparkly single colors.

My Kaine is matched with a friend’s OC Arlyra, and they’ve been married in game since 2020. It’s been a blast creating shenanigans for them and their journey and now their kids ^.^ And my Aristide is paired with another friend’s WoL Emoni, and they’re just so frickin’ cute I wanna squish them 💖💖💖

While I do like Rhinestone Eyes it’s definitely not a top fav, maybe in the top 10. Gotta give that spot tho to Melancholy Hill, and I also really love Magic City, and Cracker Island. So many good ones.

Kaine tries to visit his mother who lives in Limsa if he can and brings the kids. His sister also visits if she is able to make the trip. Aristide checks in on his mother and the visit the graves of his father and brothers, and it is a very quiet time for them by comparison.

A little late but….have a WIP for my DnD OC Gwylyss. It’s….”done” but needs editing badly. It was early, that much he knew, in the wee hours of what should be morning, and Gwylyss had already been up and wandering about for at least two of them.

Kaine will see it through no matter what, and complete every task. Aristide -maaaay- do a couple specific ones but then he’s gonna turn right tf back around and flee

Weird part about working in emergency services for both of my jobs (LOL IKR?!) is that sometimes the wires cross and you have to call one to get assistance from the other. And then you’re talking to your coworkers either way like “Hiiiii guuuyyysss, it’s meeeeeee!!!”

Kaine was already a proficient lancer before ARR, and was already training in Coerthas as a DRG for a while when he got his Echo so he started there. Aristide was a trained conjurer and had obtained WHM status shortly after getting his Echo during ARR so only slightly accelerated questline for him.
