Today, I voted YES to pass my co-sponsored House Bill 2198 - Ending Sales Tax Exemption for Data Centers. In 2021, a tax exemption for equipment purchased by data centers was enacted to try and attract data center developers to PA.

Yesterday, I voted YES on the passage of House Bill 2650 - Creating Strict, Enforceable Controls on Data Center Development in Pennsylvania.

Today, the House passed House Bill 2496 - Zoning Consideration Period for Data Centers. I co-prime sponsored this legislation, along with Reps Friel, Donahue, and Mullins, because it will ensure municipalities have the time to make the decisions that are in the best interests of their communities.

Yesterday, my House Bill 426 - The Native Habitats at Commonwealth Facilities Act - passed the House. This bill would protect pollinating insects by encouraging any new construction of a garden, lawn, or green space at a state facility to include insecticide-free native plants.

Our next Pride Month spotlight is Joe Acanfora. He attended Penn State University for his degree in secondary education. In his junior year in 1971, Acanfora joined the Homophiles of Penn State (HOPS). Upon learning of Acanfora's membership in HOPS, Penn State suspended his student teaching status.
