This direction was such a surprise to me, but I love it: Using coding agents where you are, instead of just in the IDE: First Slack and now web and mobile. Building software is no longer just tied to being hunched over a keyboard for endless hours.

I've been experimenting with background agents the past few days to see how far I can get hands off. I'm finding it's a huge kickstart for getting the scaffolding and basics up and running, but then I still need to come in and polish things in a more iterative way

Just saw the update on Cursor's Slack integration - cooler than I thought! I assumed it was just sending you updates on background agent status, but it actually lets you launch an agent. It will read the context from the thread as well

MCP servers are super insecure for now. This is a great example of how haywire it can get: Chrome extensions can access MCP servers and there's nothing to stop them using the MCP's tools, like reading files and exfiltrating them.

I've been messing around with Google's Agent2Agent. Early hot take: The work to build a reliable agent is equivalent to building standard software. The only efficiency gain is: You can put less work in and do a poor job: You can rely on the end user arguing with your agent to get to their outcome.
