The archive of Belmont Music Publishers, was completely destroyed in the fires in L. A. In order to preserve for posterity the scores and parts of Schönberg's works released since Belmont's founding in 1964, the Arnold Schönberg Center started a digital reconstruction of the publisher's editions.

Today, in 1946, Arnold Schönberg's Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte op. 41 was premiered in Goldsmiths's Hall, London, during a festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music.

In 1920 Arnold Schönberg finished a piece for piano, initially intended as a tombeau for Claude Debussy. During the composition, he developed a strategy of abstracting the tones from their musical character and using them as mere tone rows. More about this: bit.ly/fess12
