I watched the Ireland v Scotland game (well played Ireland šāļø) and honest to God, the officiating in the rugby is waaaaay above the football. Also the level of respect given to the officials.

Has there ever been a more watchable actor than Jack Nicholson? I mean, seriously? I wanted to watch Chinatown tonight but couldnāt find it so settled for The Two Jakes instead. Very creditable sequel in my opinion, perhaps suffered from being a wee bit out of time when released.

Brilliant though Ken Loach undoubtedly is and a national treasure, Iām only strong enough to very occasionally put on one of his films. Watching The Old Oak and yip, the old bugger has done it again. š Very good film though.

Lots of artists have been great at B-sides but only The Teardrop Explodes and Julian Cope (albeit perhaps not beyond My Nation Underground) did enough to compile into a stone-cold, no notes, filler-free, ten-out-of-ten, sky-high all-time masterpiece.

Just finished this Audiobook by Mike Joyce of The Smiths. As he says at the end, he himself is the biggest fan of his own band and that quiet pride in what the band accomplished comes over very clearly.
