The question and answer session is now completed. Attendees are raised questions about the Concluding Observations, UN review processes, and the role of civil society in advancing disability rights advocacy in Canada.

Rohini Peris President and CEO of EHAC ASEC /Association pour la santé environnementale du Québec is presenting on the use of the Concluding Observations in advocacy related to environmental health and disability, and providing guidance for organizations applying these recommendations in their work.

Dr. Susan Hardie, Executive Director of Eviance, is sharing insights from the reporting process and discussing key recommendations in the Concluding Observations that relate to communities connected to Eviance.

Yan Grenier from Université Laval is presenting on involvement in the Parallel Report, the importance of Francophone perspectives, and the use of the CRPD in academic work.

Elsie Tellier from ARCH is presenting on the CRPD Parallel Report and Canada’s UN review, highlighting the involvement of community members and the essential role of civil society in UN review processes.

Professor Laverne Jacobs, member of the CRPD committee, is delivering the keynote address, focusing on disability rights, equality, and Canada’s participation in the UN CRPD reporting and review process.

The event is now starting. Bencher Mitchell Kitagawa from the Law Society of Ontario and Robert Lattanzio from ARCH are welcoming attendees and introducing tonight’s discussion about Canada’s recent UN CRPD review.
