This AI-generated fake product image is so easy to spot (hands, porch construction...), & yet I imagine many fall for it. PS. Similar on Amazon are being reviewed as just a flat board with a printed image stuck to it (1⭐). Don't get scammed! (This one was all over WeatherBug)

Another scrub through my AppSumo purchases, another discovery of things I purchased, didn't really use, and now are gone, abandoned, or something else that does not recognize my LTD. There are a few gems I still use, but its the minority.

It is so sad that news and local tv websites are so full of ads - so many of which are scams. No vetting. I know they have to do what they can to survive, so I guess trust is a thing of the past.

I work with orgs like community action agencies & health centers that need gov't grants. I created WP code to highlight words throughout the site that are on a list - so editors can see what has to be changed. I really like how it works (coded with AI). I truly hate the fact that it is needed.

When I reach out by email to home improvement contractors using their Contact Us address, I ask that the first contact back to me is also by email. Not only because I prefer it, but it is a little test to see if they respect my wishes. Almost none do. ☹️

So many people liking so much generated content that's passing itself off as real. The elephant did not save that kid. The mother deer with the gaping wound was not saved by the roadside Samaritan. Think and watch critically It's not hard to spot fake.

Businesses should have at least a monitored email address and/or online form for those of us who don't like using the phone - especially for first contact. You might be surprised how many of us there are. I like to think through my written inquiry so the recipient handle appropriately.

Look what ChatGPT can now do! I've tried multiple AI image generators to create a glass of wine filled to the brim. They could not as they never "saw" (trained) on filled wine glasses. I guess ChatGPT thinks beyond that limitation. The accurate words and quality are bonus!

I'm not a fan of the overuse of "WTF" in thumbnails. Not everything is a "WTF" And please, please stop with the "Home Alone" faces - I see many using that in thumbnails when I know they would never actually do that in the real world. Way overused and just ridiculous.

AI chats are proving to be very helpful with my ADHD tendencies. When something pops into my mind, I can just launch a chat to capture it and have it start the work. I can then return to what I was doing - rather than completely changing lanes in the middle of something else. I like it.

I can spend days waiting for a pro WP plugin dev to get back to me with an answer to tech question (as I am), or I can spend 10 minutes on Claude 3.7 Sonnet, tell it what I need, and get back working code (as I just did). So is it better or worse for the developer if we find we don't need them?

The glass is half empty. Here is a very interesting AI challenge. Try to get AI to create a realistic image of a glass of wine, filled to the very brim. I've even used advanced reasoning models to create prompts. This demonstrates training vs. ability to "imagine." Let me know if you have success.

I get it. They need money. But the state of otherwise legit news sites is abysmal. Ads looking like news, serving clearly AI generated content, undermines any integrity. One tiny eg.: My local @nbcconnecticut.com serves "Seniors Are Loving These Electric SUVs!" - with bad AI images of unreal EVs.

I have a new use for AI image generation: Describing my vivid dreams when I wake up to visualize and retain them. Perhaps some sleep-movies will even become videos. We live in an amazing time!

I failed at today's NY Times Connections puzzle. I got 2 of the 4 word groups, but missed the last 2. Out of curiosity, I asked ChatGPT o3-mini to solve for just those missed 8 words, (rules & examples provided). It took +9 minutes of AI reasoning time & it also failed. I weirdly feel better. 🙂

When crafting the perfect prompt for ChatGPT, I recommend initially doing so in something like notepad. I had an extensive prompt that I lost in the split second I accidentally clicked on of those prompt starter buttons. Sad face. Annoyed face. Dumb face.

I am not a fan of marketing that tries to get attention by making me hear swearing in my head (as I am about to do). Using WTF or f**k in advertising or emails is just so unnecessary. Stop it. Note: I occasionally swear, but I try do so effectively and I am always aware of who might hear me.
