Inside my bedroom right now. No thanks.

This story has been a long time coming. Back in November 2022, I wrote about "Steve", a student who joined the Jujitsu class I help run not just from another club, but from another governing body as well. He joined us as a brown belt, one away from his black belt. And now, he wanted to earn his.

I got the itch to play Fallout 4 again. This would be my 15th(?) playthrough now? Yeah I've played it a lot, so what. My last playthrough was actually part way through a run. Since then however Bethesda released the 'Anniversary Edition'.

First of the Month #45 A good month. Hard to get through, but still a good enough month.

All of these things have been a bunch of little things that haven't been worth their own posts, but now feels like a good time to amalgamate them into one. It was nearly a year ago that we got the confirmation that Grandma has Alzheimer's Disease. Shortly after that she was moved into a care home.

Aromanticism as a Math problem? This is another one of those thoughts that's been rattling around my head for a while, and which I need to write down to make it make sense. Let's suppose everything in our lives gives us a quantifiable happiness score.

Would I have read more at university if.....? I read Psychology at university. Supposedly that's the 'correct' way to describe your time at university; you declare which subject you "read". You should know by now that I failed university in the end.

LWC 2026 - Day 44 "Do you tend to assume the best in others until proven otherwise, or vice versa?" I'd say I'm fairly neutral on balance. See on the whole, I do think most people are kind. That they don't mean to be mean. It's just that people have different definitions of what 'mean' is.

LWC 2026 - Day 43 "If you had to choose between having a personal chef, a housekeeper, or a personal trainer, which would you pick?" Right off the bat, it's not the housekeeper. Unless I was living in a mansion, I have no need of other people cleaning my house for me, I can manage just fine.

First of the Month #44 A good month. Hard to get through, but still a good enough month.

"What do you think most people misunderstand?" The concept of 'Chi' (also transliterated to 'Ki' or 'Qi') The concept of 'Chi' has floated around the Eastern world for many centuries, but has become very misunderstood in the western world.

It is #transdayofvisibility I am not transgender. I am a cis male. I stand with transgender folk. More of us need to. Days like this should be filled with us cis people flooding the airwaves with our support. Fight for them. Fight with them. Humanity needs all of us.

LWC 2026 - Day 41 "What is your relationship to books and reading?" It was just a few months ago that I got a Kindle for Christmas, and it has changed how I read. Since that post, I have read 2 more books, taking me up to 4 with a 5th in progress.

LWC 2026 - Day 40 "What is a flaw about yourself that you have accepted?" My flaw is that while I am a native English speaker, born and raised in England, I am occasionally not fluent in the language. Yes, it's as daft as it sounds.

"Would teenage-you proud of you today?" I think teenaged-werewolf would have mixed feelings. Let's start with the things he could probably be proud of. I am still going in his chosen career and am doing well enough in it. I have a modicum of authority and respect from my colleagues.

LWC 2026 - Day 38 "Do you prefer watching movies or TV shows?" By and far, TV shows. But it's not like movies don't have their worth.

LWC 2026 - Day 37 "Would you rather travel to 5 cities in 10 days, or stay at 1 city for 10 days??" 1 city for 10 days for sure, though some of that would be down to the size of the city. Basically is there 10 days worth of things to do there?

LWC 2026 - Day 36 "I wish I had enough money to..." Let's ignore the obvious one; I am saving for a house so the cheap answer (heh) would be to say that. Oh look, a lovely 2 bed house in my hometown not too far from family, friends and work. No, let's get a bit more imaginative.

LWC 2026 - Day 35 "What do you think about marriage?" I'm not against marriage. The basic idea that 2 people can decide that they want to bring both their families into one place, and publically promise in front of all of them to love and be faithful to each other? Great, more power to them.

LWC 2026 - Day 34 "When do you feel the most patriotic? Alternatively, why don't you feel patriotic?" I feel like patriotism is a very American thing. I know it's something that members of all countries have, or it is every country itself has? Whatever. It's not unique to north America.

LWC 2026 - Day 33 I have to admit something. I like the idea of this prompt, but when I tried to think about symbols of wealth, I pretty much only came up with a mansion or luxury car. And I can't even say I came up with the second one because it's literally in the prompt.

LWC 2026 - Day 32 "Do you think you would be a good business owner? Would you want to run a business?" As this prompt is two questions, let's answer them as such.

LWC 2026 - Day 31 "How do you choose which causes to care about?" I think for this prompt I want to quickly share which charities I support financially every month, just in alphabetical order: ~ Alzheimer's Research UK ~ Amnesty International ~ Mind ~ NSPCC

LWC 2026 - Day 30 "What do you think about completely going off social media for 1 week?" I am very mixed on social media, because I basically use social media as three different people: ~ IRL me ~ As this 'Werewolf' persona ~ As my Jujitsu club

'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' Season 1 Reactions These are my thoughts and initial reactions to the recently concluded first season of 'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.' If you have not yet watched the show then proceed with caution because spoilers beyond this point!

LWC 2026 - Day 29 "What is your favourite household chore?" What an interesting prompt, because the idea of a favourite chore seems a bi odd to me, but then people enjoy all sorts, don't they? As I think will quickly become obvious, I don't think I have one. Or if I do, I'm not quite aware of it.

LWC 2026 - Day 28 "What do you think about forums dedicated to snarking on celebrities and public figures?" I think that is one of the most disrespectful waste of everyone's time. I'll defend the idea that everyone can choose how to spend their time, but ....

LWC 2026 - Day 27 "What have you changed your mind on?" I think this question kind of assumes something, that the something in question is some big thing. For example, converting religion or going vegan. Big life altering things that fundamentally change who we choose to be.

LWC 2026 - Day 26 "What is one job you would never do?" Oh just one job? Because I can think of a few, all of them dealing with life's nasty side.

LWC 2026 - Day 25 "Do you like standing out and being above average?" I think in a way I do. I want to refer back to a prior post of mine, titled "The 'Perfect' Triad", the TL;DR of which is that while back at university, I wrote up a document of goals with a theme of 'Mind, Body and Soul'

LWC 2026 - Day 24 "What motivates you to keep going during difficult times?" I think for the most part, it's a combination of feeling like I don't know what else to do, and a sort of faith that whatever difficulties I'm facing will end.

LWC 2026 - Day 23 "What do you wish you started doing sooner?" Judo. I wish I had started it closer to the time I started Jujitsu, and I can think of a couple reasons why.

LWC 2026 - Day 22 "What is something you did growing up, that you don't see kids nowadays doing anymore?" Playing outside in the street. Now granted some of that is due to the fact the house I grew up in until the age of 9 was at the very end of a cul-de-sac.

LWC 2026 - Day 21 "What is a feature you would like in your dream home?" In an odd way this is something I have been thinking about, at least in the back of my mind. I've made no secret to the fact I am house hunting and that I am doing so as a single person.

LWC 2026 - Day 20 "What advice would you give to someone who is getting started with one of your hobbies?" For the purposes of this prompt, I'm going to use traditional / Japanese jujitsu, of which I have the benefit of also coaching. I literally help people get into the martial art.

LWC 2026 - Day 19 "Do you think it's possible for kind and uncorrupt people to succeed in high levels of government?" Not without safeguards.

LWC 2026 - Day 18 "How do you decide whether you buy or borrow a book?" The majority of the books I own are non-fiction, so for the most part they are books about things I have wanted to learn about. For me, that has been Japanese martial arts such as Jujutsu, judo, kendo.

"What first impressions of someone makes them instantly lose brownie points in your head? Gain brownie points?" I am drawn back to my university days here, and the module I sat on Stereotypes. Basically how they form and and why we have them.

So I just had my Tumblr account randomly banned. Again. Last time I think it was a couple years ago, and I don't recall the support team telling me why I got banned then. They just reversed it. Here's hoping the same happens again.

LWC 2026 - Day 16 "What is something you used to be a die hard fan of? Why are you no longer a fan, or as big of a fan?" I think there are a few things you could add here, but I'm going to focus on the one that came first in my life; Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

A diversion in the Lent Writing Challenge. OK, this challenge looks like it might be coming to an unexpected diversion.

LWC 2026 - Day 15 "You're writing your autobiography. What's your opening sentence?" "You like making life hard for yourself, don't you?" That's a phrase that I have been told many times in my life. If there's an easy way of doing something, I seem hell bent on not doing it.

LWC 2026 - Day 14 "What are three objects you couldn't live without?" This is hard, because are we talking literally would die without, or figuratively die without? If we're talking literally, then I'd nominate my bed.

LWC 2026 - Day 13 "What experiences in life helped you grow the most?" Honestly given how I've just finished off a post about coming out to someone about being AroAce, I think those are two experiences worth talking about.

I finally told someone! This is going to be a little bonus post, considering my ongoing 'Lent Writing Challenge', but if you can't put the combination of title and header image together, I have finally 'come out' to someone!

First of the Month #43 The weight loss continues! Progress is good!

LWC 2026 - Day 12 "Do you believe in fate/destiny?" Absolutely not. For the most part, I find it a pointless idea. Whether you call it fate or destiny, what people are talking about here is some form of pre-ordained timeline. A string of events that will happen no matter what we do.

LWC 2026 - Day 11 "Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to." I suppose my youth? I'm pretty sure I have written before about my life as an 18 year old and how I could do so much. I used to work 2 jobs. I cycled or walked everywhere. I could eat anything and not gain weight.

LWC 2026 - Day 10 "If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?" When they say be someone else, do they mean live in someone else's shoes for a day, or do the mean taking over someone else's body 'Being John Malkovich' style?

LWC 2026 - Day 9 "Describe the most ambitious project you've ever taken on." Leveling a driveway. Well, sort of.
