he award nominations are stacking up for our short film 'ICare 9000'! We have our 3rd nomination from the HB film fest 'Best Sci-Fi & Fantasy'. I'm a big nerd & have always dreamed of making sci-fi. I think we've pulled it off despite not having a sci-fi budget.

Congratulations to Kirsten Maguire for being nominated for Best Female Actor at the HB Film Festival! She was nominated for the role of Meredith in our Film 'ICare 9000'. It was wonderful to work with such a talented performer. She really brought the role to life with depth and humour.

Had an excellent first screening of 'ICare 9000' last night at the Outwith festival. It was a real treat watching the film in a busy screening accompanied by excellent cast. They really shone on screen and the audience laughed at all the right places.

A thread of shows I've seen at the Fringe so far. If you are looking for recommendations, all these are all great: Perfect Dead Girls - Jean-Paul Sartre's 'No Exit' with added girly Y2K pop culture. Thoughtfull, fun, sad and fast paced, with two great performances.

It's always great when your friend has a #fringe show. It's even better when their show is actually good. I can guilt free recommend,'Perfect Dead Girls'. The actors skillfully blend theatricality and subtly to create a funny/sad thoughtful show. Check it out. 11am at Bedlam Theatre.

Exciting news! Our film 'ICare 9000' has been selected for it's second festival: The Edinburgh Short Film Festival. The festival runs from the 7th to the 16th of November. Not only is it a BIFA qualifying festival, but it's taking place at the newly reopened Filmhouse. Hope to see you all there!

Saw DUSK/NIGHT/DAWN at the fringe last night. It was their last show, so a pointless recommendation, but goddamn, it was incredible, the artistry and athleticism on display next level. A strong show in more ways than one. If Vertical Dreamscape come back, go see them.

Saw Mythos: Ragnarök last night at the fringe. Brilliant idea to mix norse mythology and wrestling. Lots of big lads and lassies got flipped but the stand out moment was the audiences impromptu chant "F**k you Baldr" (he deserved it.) Great show and great audience.

Nice evening walk round Dunbar the night before my brothers wedding. Start of a great weekend.

Had some fun trying out some black and white analog photography. It was a nice challenge trying to create purely tonal compositions especially in the hard lighting of a bright sun. I do love the texture of film grain, it looks so good in B&W.

Nice to see our wee environmental short ' Remains' got an honourable mention at the 'My Name is Climate' festival, among lots of great international entries.

I'm a big fan of this insane film, so my bro got me a print of the poster for Xmas. Decided to paint over it because the print quality was almost as trashy as the film. Not sure my partner will let me hang it up, but I did have fun cracking out the acrylics. Cheers @johntheduncan.bsky.social
