One Battle After Another will probably be the first film that I watch multiple times at the cinema. I love it so much. I’ve listened to 4 hours of podcast discussion on it already and I have 3 more podcast episodes on it to listen to after I rewatch it. #LastFourWatched

This international break has gone by so slowly! I haven’t been able to run for over 3 weeks due to injury, then illness, then concussion - I banged my head last Monday and I’m still getting headaches, but I finally felt well enough to go and see One Battle After Another this evening. What a film!

This will hopefully be the last time I stack a Suma order into this pantry. Realising I’m autistic has led to me deciding to move out of my mum’s house, and that should happen before the next Suma order in 3-4 months. It’ll be a massive change for me, but I’m feeling really positive about it

I wan planning on watching ‘Frost/Nixon’ on Tuesday night to complete a Nixon trilogy but I was too tired. I’m intolerant to cheese and I think I’m also intolerant to cheesy movies. I only finished ‘Yesterday’ because I wanted to listen to the Blank Check podcast episode on it.

Spent two hours on video calls today with an autism charity and then with an autism therapist. It’s the longest I’ve spent staring at my webcam in one day. I now realise that the flashing lights on my webcam are terrible for my hypersensitivity! 😫

I credit the YouTube algorithm for making me realise I’m autistic, but I can’t believe it’s taken this long to recommend this video to me! It knows that I love watching people cover Joanna Newsom songs, and I also often watch Marika Hackman covering other artists’ songs youtu.be/KDJs4ONyONs?...

I’ve got a sunburnt nose because when I went out to collect my wheelie bin from beside the road at midday, I saw my neighbour over the wall and chatted him for 30 minutes about autism while I was looking directly at the sun 🤦

I was obsessed with Fever Ray when their debut album dropped, I was obsessed with them two years ago when they did a Glasto set, and I'm obsessed with them again now because they've released two amazing remixes of songs on that album. It's cool finding out that they're also on the autism spectrum!

Funniest moment of my day was when my phone call with an uncle was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. I said it was a ‘big fan’, and he thought one of my admirers from the FPL community had arrived at my house 😆

It’s my birthday tomorrow and I won’t be able to stick to my regular routine of going for a run two hours after breakfast because it’ll be too hot outside. I’ll do what I always used to do from 2011-2024 and go for a run in the dark. I used to love watching TV/films before bed on a runner’s high.

Just had a bad OCD moment. I had to hang the washing out later than expected due to a rain shower, so I hung it up in the dusk. It got harder and harder to see what colour pegs I was holding, and I NEED to have all the same coloured legs in a row. It’s a nightmare if the pegs alternate colours.

Is it an autistic trait to be annoyed at friends who log films without leaving a star rating on Letterboxd?

The largest living creature that I’ve interacted with today is a slug - it was my inside my house on the wall of my living room. I used a piece of kitchen roll to pick it up and put it in the kitchen bin, which was probably a mistake because I guess it’ll be able to crawl up the bin bag… 🐌

First ever solo sourdolo (I normally make two or three loaves) I’m now happy with my method for the 63% hydration recipe I was given I cook it on a heavy baking steel with a le creuset pan trapping the steam The last improvement I made was to score the bread after it’s been in the oven for 7 mins

I did see other ppl today! My brother and his uni friend popped in stoned and drenched after walking 12 miles in the rain. Obv I chatted to his friend (whom I'd never met) about autism, and he knew as much as I did a month ago about it. I'll likely not have another f2f convo for the next 10 days

First day of being totally alone since I realised I’m autistic. Weird vibe. I have conflicting feelings about the kitchen clock - I hate it when I’m near it and there’s no other noise, but after I take it down I really miss it.

Feeling more my like myself after a run today. I was so manic last week, and then so low after the meltdown. Being in a car for 9 hours and not being able to sleep on the journey was the worst way to recover. The conversation with my grandma about autism was way easier than I’d built it up to be.

Everything caught up with me on Thursday and I had a meltdown for the first time since my Dad died. I was still in an oversharing mood so I recorded an 8 min solo video to let off steam and share my meltdown story! Couldn’t work out how to post it here so I shred it with 300k people on twitter 😳

If I was truly trying to minimise anxiety in my life like I said in my announcement post then I wouldn’t have picked up sourdough as a hobby. I freaked out when I mixed the dough; it felt weird and I thought the high humidity had doomed the batch from the start. This might be my best batch!

I don’t like people telling me: “We all knew you were autistic” in response to my announcement. It makes me fee stupid, and it makes me think I shouldn’t bother trying to raise awareness about autism because everyone already knows all about it.

I always aim for 8 hours’ sleep and will almost always get it if I’m undisturbed. Since I realised I’m autistic I’ve woken up after 6 hours (apart from the one day I woke up after 30 mins). Does my body value being awake and doing autism research/introspection over recovering from a cold? 😕

I keep making sense of things in my current life as well as things from the past. I’m nocturnal because I need alone time, even though I’ve lived with my parents for 15 years. Life was too anxiety-inducing if I shared the same hours as them.

Seems like most people with level 1 autism hate some forms of communication and like others. I’ve realised that when talking to one person, I hate DMing and I really like phone calls. Before today, I think I hadn’t had a proper phone conversation with someone my own age in over a decade.
