Darn! I was so happy with this one and noticed a crack that runs from the foot to the edge! When I was trimming the foot I kept bumping into something in the clay in one spot. I believe there was a small foreign object & that’s where the crack began. I know what I am making (again) next! #pottery

After a pause for bitter cold (my kiln is in an outdoor shed) and some “life hiccups” (I gave notice I am retiring a couple days ago as the budget cuts loom…) I ran a glaze kiln and it is still too hot to unload. SO excited to move forward in what matters. Leap and the net will appear? Hope so!

I’ve been quiet. It has been a tough couple of weeks. Completely out-of-the-blue my “day job” employer of 15+ years announces budget problems and my whole department might get cut. Poof. 1 day-at-a-time. Trust. At least I was able to buy a wheel and a kiln for my own studio these past years. Onward.

In my photos I see a sink I threw 2 years ago that still hasn’t gotten installed! I believe the 15 pounds of clay is the most I have thrown with and I broke a sweat getting it centered! 2 degrees outside today & still too cold to fire kiln in outdoor shed, so a trip down memory lane! #pottery
