ISHIN went from a guy discovering himself as a wrestler after his brother's retirement to effectively the #2 heel in the promotion and the first 2020s debut (2021 class) to make a King of Gate final. Crazy improvement. Next couple of years of his career will be super interesting to watch

Yoshiki Kato one of DG's biggest winners this year. His generational rival came back from retirement, there's a spot freed up in the heel unit for him to go up the card a bit. He's developed a really nice character in a great tag team. He should be one to watch next year.

One of my favourite cage matches of the decade so far. It's also one of the most simple. There's not a ton of high spots, but just an incredibly well laid-out match where 3 years worth of story is touched on. That ending still gets me the same 2 years later.

The discourse over Omega working tags in 2023 (after he'd worked one of the greatest trios feuds I've ever seen) was so hilarious to me because the man put just as much effort into his tags as his singles. He put 100% into that run and a lot of people regrettably didn't appreciate it at the time.

It's actually crazy how much Jacky Kamei and Luis Mante were made to be in a ring with each other. Incredible as opponents, the short-lived tag team was fantastic too. The closest thing to wrestling soulmates going in Japan imo

I don’t think Mox should go a full 0-5 (I’d go loss to Dorada on opening night, loss to Claudio to stop a semi final spot). Will say though? Considering a lot of people’s aversion to top stars losing nowadays, it’s pretty refreshing that the convo around his C2 is about how much should he lose.

Gear of the Year stacked this year

Yoshioka vs ISHIN semi-final sounds fab. Believe it’s a first time singles too. If they do a spot where Yuki does the HFF but bounces off of Ishin’s belly like YAMATO does when big boys kick out of his pins, it gets an automatic Amy 5*

Whole C2 lineup looks awesome but Gold League is probably my favourite tournament block in wrestling this year. Getting the 2 Okada rematches I wanted most in PAC/Fletcher. JetSpeed collide and they both get to be in in general after the great in-ring year they’ve had. All killer, no filler.

One of my favourite tweets I ever did was comparing his booking last year (when there was all the hoo haa about it then) to Skywalker's booking over the past couple of years. Bear in mind as well, the latter's losses were necessary and he's been one of the best heels in wrestling in the 2020s
