Glad I didn't jump the gun on another FFXI post Was about to mistakenly say I can't find a way to see currently active side quests from smaller NPCs like shopkeeps and such only to find it does exist but you're never told when anything is added to the side quest list You just gotta guess if it is

okay this is an interesting part of FFXI i wasnt expecting You as the player only get maps for the starting areas. any new dungeons you go to for a quest or mission you dont have a map for at first. Yeah you can buy one but the first time i started this quest i (1/2)

So last minute scheduling issues with the collab means its getting pushed back to 8pm not 5 like initially planned. Possibly might push twilight princess back an hour too since the whole plan to see scary movie w me sister from last week only got finalized just now bc we aint talk all week til now

aight thats about 2 hours in and the soft guided tutorial now just says "hit level 18" when i'm level 8 so now's probably a good time to take a small break. Really liking FFXI so far, it's different and slower but feels more deliberate than other mmos ive played.

so you canonically just clone your friends to help you jump people in vana'diel and they're not like half conscious clones, they're just full copies of the people who can interact crazy work

auto attacking is fine so far and seems interesting enough as a different combat than the usual tab targeting just not sure if i'm a fan of the lock on camera for fights

Honestly though the giant chat/action box at the bottom where everything happens would take longer to get used to, but its pretty understandable and easy to use so far but now i getta try combat
