First day back off holiday. Favourite la ist, favourite surgeon and i have just found out favourite ODP as well. Smiling from ear to eat now 😊😊

Home again. Thankfully another two non-clinical day before heading back into work on Wednesday

May have ever so slightly overdone the waking thing this week. Totally worth it though

Not sure why I was surprised but after a four hour hike in minus 10 degrees I found my water bottle frozen. Still worth it though 😊

Early start tomorrow to go visit the older son in Austria for a week. Be ready for lot's of snow pictures 😊

Die polnische Pflegekraft mit italienischen Ehemann die sich um SchwiMu kümmern sind unglaublich liebe und fürsorgliche Menschen. Bekocht werd ich auch seit einer Woche. Hab schon zig mal gesagt ich brauch nix und kann selber und für alle kochen. Jetzt steht der Mann in der Küche und macht Lasagne 🤣

We are leaving the son for a week today and he has decided to have a friend over and make a full roast dinner. I am somewhere between proud that he can do that and fearful for my kitchen 🤣

24 hours on call. Not a single disturbance. The Christmas-gods of anaesthesia have been kind this Boxing day.

Kind fragt ob es heute Abend noch einen Freund Treffen darf den er seit Monaten nicht gesehen hat. Und ja das Kind ist vermutlich mehr Englisch als Deutsch und ich will auch gar nicht die böse Mutter sein die dem entgegen steht, aber es ist schon Heiligabend und ein bisschen weh tut das jetzt schon😞

Late home from work yesterday. I'm tired, i am cold, it's dark, it's pouring down rain and I am racing home. 200m away from my house I very very narrowly get knocked off my bike by a car that just pulled out of a side street without looking. Not lying....it took a good 10 min for me to stop shaking

Facilitated emergency MRI for a baby. Spent over half an hour trying to get a cannula in. Ended up in the head. Got verbally abuse by the father afterwards for putting it there. How is your day going?

My ectopics are are getting a bit out of hand today. They have been, on occasion, every fifth beat. Mighty annoying

A mastoid is pretty much the most boring thing ever. 5 min anaesthetic time at the beginning and then trying to not fall asleep for the next four hours. Yawn 🥱

One of my better ideas to invest in a small electrical heating blanket. At least this way when they call me out at night I can go back home and snuggle into a nice warm bed.

Today has been hectic from the very first minute. And I am still on call till tomorrow morning. 😞

The weekend was kind. Only had to go in twice and the nights were undisturbed. Day of rest today before we go again tomorrow

Had Mongolian beef for our last lunch. Now chilling on the couch before I drop big bear off at the airport later. Short visit already over 😔

Big bear has come home for a weekend visit. I made his favourite food and he is now upstairs having a bath. It's the little things 😜
