This is legit 100% the default of what Doctor Who needs to look like. This era, this style of filming. Forget about the writing, got nothing to do with the scripts, just visually, Doctor Who needs to be THIS (with slightly better colour grading). Insane that anyone can think otherwise.

The only Doctor Who revival historical I think you could have had as a pure one is Demons of the Punjab. Thijarians are a brilliant metaphor in the story, but you can rewrite around them. Whilst Vincent the metaphor of the monster is more important to the themes.
