I filled in my census form today and I was happy to do so. Every time you turn on your phone you surrender information about yourself to corporations. We're all data to be scraped for their benefit. At least the census data will be used to help one another, not the companies we work for or buy from.

Stan Rogers became one of the most beloved Canadian musicians of the late-20th century. His songs told the story of Canada, its culture, its people and its history. Rogers was taken far too soon but his legacy endures. This is his story. ๐ธ

The Netherlands is investing โฌ1 billion in cycling infrastructure to connect hundreds of thousands of new homes nationwide. These funds will build bike highways and improve bike-train intermodality, enabling residents to access jobs, healthcare and education without being locked into car dependency.

1/16 The Scratcher: A Brick and Kammers Halloween Special Kammers hated Halloween. It always reminded him of The Scratcher, which was said to be a deranged creature that walked about, dragging itโs gnarled claws, looking for small rattlings to gobble up.

October 13th โ Vachel Lindsay โ โThe Spider and the Ghost of a Flyโ (1914) The spiders of the world see affection and friendship as a means to manipulate. Even in death the poor fly is really the one haunted. Still, I'd rather be the fly.

October 10th โ Lionel Johnson โ โThe Dark Angelโ (1893) Not a huge fan of religious material, but wrestling with inner demons is interesting. I think what bothers me is works like this always resolve by just saying their "divinity is stronger" or some such. Not very satisfying.

Emily Brontรซ โ โAnd now the house dog stretched once moreโ (1839) I have no idea what's happening in this poem. Why does everyone hate that poor man? Why is the title concerning a dog who appears in the beginning and is then not mentioned again?

oct 4 - The Buried Alive by John Galt (1821) I love the descriptive nature of earlier writing. I get the sense that our vocabulary has generally decreased through the years. Maybe it's just my own is so poor. It gave this simple story a truly horrific edge!

I guess if someone is called an old Hag that they might just go ride with the devil. How we are treated would partially define how we behave towards the world, for better or worse.

Horrible decision. Will result in less ridership, lower revenues, more driving and worse vehicle congestion (with all the corresponding costs and consequences). Either they donโt understand that, or theyโre ok with all that.
