A cell‐type‐specific regulon controlling monoterpene indole alkaloid biosynthesis with feedback and feedforward activation loops
Monoterpene indole alkaloids (MIA) are a diverse class of plant natural products produced by a subset of lineages within the Asterid clade of eudicots. The diversity of MIAs provides a unique opport.....

New paper is online! We used single cell RNA-seq & phylogenetics to identify 2 additional cell type specific TFs that control late-stage vinca alkaloid biosynthesis. The key insights originated from Camptotheca, another species that produces alkaloids.

New preprint! We used single cell sequencing & metabolomics to look at cell type specificity of specialized metabolism in Camptotheca, the source of chemotherapeutic agent camptothecin, as well as comparative analyses w/ Catharanthus, which we previously worked on. 🧵

Here we updated the 2013 C. elegans RNA-binding protein (RBP) compendium from the Walhout lab! We also catalogued RBP gene expression and developmental phenotypes, with a particular interest in RBPs that are predicted to act in a gene- and RNA-specific manner 🪱
