@volcanologist.bsky.social Visited Teide this week and spent lots of time wandering its lava flows & features. Its not just the grandeur, but the primordial setting inside the caldera -a fascinating place. There were fields of tiny smooth sandy gravel -are these the remains of pyroclastic flows?

Tumour scan review done for another year - I get to kick the can a bit further down the road.. Serious surgery possible eventually, but we're not there yet.. relieved - I can get on with things for another year..

Halloween. I'll admit, I'm not into this stuff - just seems a pointless/wasteful thing. But here's a thought. When you walk down the Halloween isle in the supermarket, just remember that most of that stuff (plastic junk) will be in landfill/incineration within a week or two..

As a professional pilot, there are 2 things that scare me the most: fire, and mid air collision. My heart goes out to all involved - there are serious questions to be answered, and quickly - something has gone catastrophically wrong. #planecrash

Still getting used to duplicating posts - but: After a difficult 3 years of being medically grounded, I return to my flying job tomorrow! I can't say how relieved I am, and my employer has been amazing. Time to push the big reset button and get on with my life!!!

As a current 737 pilot, I find the tragic events in South Korea to be absolutely shocking. There are questions - as this doesn't add up... Condolences to the families that have lost loved ones...

Russia warns against "Hypotheses"... Well, I'm an ex Embraer pilot and I have one. Russia shot it down because they're savages. The evidence is there - and knowing about the systems on the Embraer -it figures. Politics aside, the crew did a heroic job.
