Interesting to look at generations of teams that should have won major tournaments. For me, Netherlands 1998/2000 is the generation that should have won one for the Dutch. Those were really complete teams. The 2010s teams weren’t. They got lucky. Even Euro 2008 Holland was a better team on paper.

It’s not a coincidence Norway is a quarter finalist. They have two generational players in one team and a decent supporting cast. The country also has the money to build on it and create the right infrastructure in the long run. If given time, they can probably catch up with Holland and Belgium.
