I fully understand the lethargic and nervous atmosphere at the Emirates last weekend. I don’t get the boos at all.

I don’t agree with this. If you play as anxious as Arsenal did yesterday, you will never ever get a crowd right behind you. For instance, going 1-0 up and making mistake after mistake, or equalizing after 80 minutes and immediately conceding again.

Said last week that Maye wasn’t good either but overshadowed by Stroud and it’s proven to be true so far.

We can definitely still win this league. But we need Mikel to trust our players. I feel like everybody is playing scared at the moment. And it’s mostly management related. No one can make a mistake. So we try not to make them and that actually leads to mistakes.

It was also so obvious that today Trossard was going to start and add nothing. Like he did last week.

I thought Merino was our best player on the day and he got half an hour. One of the few who doesn’t actually back down when the going gets though.

Genuinely think the tension the players feel every time there is a big opportunity to make a statement, is because of the way we are set up. Risk-averse mindset. So when there is an actual risk, we are usually in trouble.

I am now fully going to rip into the amount of risk Arsenal take in games in the Premier League. I am a huge advocate of ‘if you are a poor team, try everything to keep the margins as small as possible’ and ‘if you are a talented team, try and make the gaps as big as you can’.

I hate our offensive play. All the warning signs for this performance have been there for the better part of 18 months. And we chose to ignore every blinking light and just do the same thing we’ve always done when there is any tension.

Arteta had something finally in zone 14 with Merino and Eze and as soon as some old faithfuls got back he never used it again. This game was perfect for it and he didn’t even entertain it, I bet.

We always play shit against United. Somehow understandable because of the name brand fixture, but still strange.

I’d be tempted to sub on White and Merino at half time.

Odegaard has been invisible again. Need more from him. I think the goal is more on Saliba then on Zubi, although Zubi is to blame too. It’s just ‘how do I bring this guy into as difficult a situation as possible’ by Saliba.

Some of our players have been so braindead today. How do you give them a way back in to this game so easily?

I thought any comments on Jesus being poor over the last few weeks were wildly overstated because he didn’t have an rhythm yet and how can you judge a player so quickly when he didn’t play for the better part of a year. Clearly showing he has a part to play. Leader too.

Need to have a lot of these teams winning: Atalanta, Atletico, Liverpool, Sporting, Newcastle, Chelsea, Barcelona. Could actually get City out of the first 8. Not saying it will happen, but if it would it would help our title race. If 4 of those 7 win City start in 10th before the last matches.

I don’t think Arteta will, but I’d pick Raya,Timber-Saliba-Gabriel-Lewis-Skelly,Rice-Merino-Nwaneri, Eze-Jesus-Madueke today. Play White, Zubimendi, Saka, Martinelli at the weekend. Could play Gyokeres here and Jesus at the weekend, bring Havertz in from the bench in both. Bring Mosquera on here.

Paul by far the most sensible this time on the Arsenal Vision Podcast. Clive made some good tactical points too, however Paul was right on the money with something like ‘I think you make your way backwards from this Forest game and base the team in the other games before it on that’.

Pretty damn good sports season for Arsenal owners KSE so far. Rams in the NFC championship game in the NFL, Avalanche top of the NHL, Nuggets 3rd in the conference so far in the NBA, Arsenal top.

What I love about hockey is that it is just so relentless and the tempo of games is fantastic. Not too many breaks, it can go on continuously for 10 minutes straight sometimes, and there’s always something happening.

This Sabres-Hurricanes game has been one of the most interesting regular season games I’ve seen in a while. What a ridiculous game by Bussi.

I am always amazed when I watch American Sports and I see the ads. So weird to see direct competitors absolutely murder each other while saying their product is best. Not a thing really in European culture (at least not in my country). It happens but usually it’s received poorly.

It’s more important that you pick up points than when you pick up points, basically. There are loads of variables with opposition and midweek games, but ultimately that’s what it boils down to.

I don’t think it’s a problem we haven’t fully capitalized on City and Villa’s mishaps. I do think with a little more gap you could make a valid case that especially City get to a point were Guardiola says ‘this is a cup and CL season’ and pivots. Especially if some of their injury troubles persist.

Make no mistake, they might have given up 21 points but this has potential to be an all time defensive performance from that Texans D regardless. Patriots defense not too shabby either!

Houston’s offense is a mess mostly due to individual errors. But that is a catch. He’s down.

CJ Stroud has been very, very bad, almost so bad that you can’t even blame the coordinator because he just makes a mistake on every drive immediately. So there is never any rhythm. Hard to work with.

In other news, as I’m watching two things at once, it is astonishing the Texans are still in this game with how their offense has played.

The balls on Diaz to even try that. Wow. That is one of the dumbest things ever. Did he do that on purpose?

On a totally different aspect of this: is this the most difficult penalty ever taken?

Hakimi feels a slight hand, while trying to grab someone himself too, mind and just goes down and the ref calls it. I don’t get that. It’s a corner. Everyone touches everyone (sounds wrong!) while covering corners.

CJ Stroud has to pick it up. Sloppy so far, not punished yet.

This Texans-Patriots game seems destined to be decided by who wins the turnover margin.

Ndiaye misses the first very big chance. Should always lift that slightly. If he keeps the trajectory and lifts it it’s a goal.
