The longer I do this job, the more I realized that, at least for me, writer's block is actually my brain flagging that something isn't working and I need to address it before moving on.

Nothing like getting spam from shifty AI audiobook companies trying to sell me on using them for a book that already has an audiobook out. Granted, I'd tell them to fuck off with that regardless, but extra layer of laziness really makes hitting the block button all the more satisfying.

Given that my main interests in school were books and theatre, few people are usually surprised I’m not into sports. That said, I think if I’d realized earlier on what an unbelievable socialization cheat code they are, especially growing up in Texas, I might have made an effort to be interested.

I’ve had two fans stop by for the autograph session and I gotta say no matter how small the number this always makes my day. Writing is a profoundly lonely pursuit and getting to know that you wrote something that makes someone happy makes all the quiet hours worth it.

For all the challenges it can present, I love the amount of control being an indie author allows. At the moment I'm doing tweaks to a plot line that has been slowly building over more than ten years, and won't even start to pay off for several still to come.
