Found this *classic* film from way back in the day! Full of hardcore, raw, fantastic scenes of Real Leathermen doing what they do best. #bijouworld

Re-watched this film imagining a now 80-year-old Alice Hargreaves (real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s “Wonderland” and “Looking Glass” books) reflecting on her relationship with Carroll. Aside from some moments of homophobia, a lovely film, with fantastically bizarre creatures by Jim Henson.

Finished this concise and essential biography of the greatest Gay artist of all time. His hyper-masculine Leathermen are so full of joy and exuberance they come to life on the page. Tom’s work means so much to me. It is transcendent. RIP Touko Laaksonen (“Tom of Finland”) (1920-1991)

Peter Gabriel’s "Passion: Music for The Last Temptation of Christ" is among my favorite albums of all time. I play it often while writing, finding its insistent, meditative rhythms infused with mystery, longing, elegance, and danger particularly stimulating to my imagination. I highly recommend it.

Just watched this classic film. Martin Scorsese’s 1988 epic is a profound meditation by an artist grappling with his deeply-held faith. Although I have rejected the Christianity I was raised in, I still find Christian symbology and mysticism resonant and fascinating. A beautiful, devastating film.
