I try to challenge the narrative that the chance of unionization depends on which state/area the workplace is located. It’s possible anywhere, just different strategies and steps. It may take more time, but it’s possible.

Met up with a former student of mine who reached out after a year. They’re doing great work, and I felt truly privileged and honored to have been part of their academic and personal journey. Now I know why my high school teachers were so excited when I reached out to them. It means so much.

Strawberry job is back breaking, even in the greenhouse (beds are usually tiered). Strawberry was what Japanese farmers opted for back in 1920-30s, because few farmers wanted to do it. 100 yrs later, the job is still so hard, and these workers deserve more recognition and wages for their work.
