So sad to hear of the passing of Hal Wake. I met him through the Vancouver Writer’s Festival where he was Artistic Director, and he was just the kindest man. Made me feel important as a writer, sure, but even as an audience member. Absolute master of hugs. Sigh. Rest well, Hal.

So until these news guys arrive with laser focus and, I dunno, fucking Rupi Kaur collections, I will remain inconsolable.
