30-Day Horror Challenge Day 30 — The best horror film ending: Climax (2018) Not the story's end specifically, but the feeling of relief of it finally being over. I love this film, but have never been closer to a movie-induced panic attack than while watching this. Honourable mention: Pearl (2022)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 29 — The best horror film opening scene: Nope (2022) Super creepy, domesticated wild animals are always scary, but chimps are the scariest. Honourable mention: It Follows (2014)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 28 — Your favourite horror movie score: Eraserhead (1977) I don't usually pay much attention to scores, but the amazing Lynchian soundscapes are really unlike anything else.

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 27 — Your favourite horror movie director: David Cronenberg He's just a weird lil guy, a real freak. I really relate to that. Honourable mention: David Lynch

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 26 — Most chilling scene from a non-horror: Buried up to the neck in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983). Watched this while sick during Christmas as a teen and was stranded home alone with a REALLY high fever. The whole thing made it a pretty weird Christmas Eve watch.

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 25 — Your favourite horror from the 1990s: Pi (1998) Honourable mention: Jacob's Ladder (1990)

Forever wondering why Bsky censors all the pictures in a post if only one of them has graphic content. Also, why is a still from a horror movie not allowed while pics of people with their pussies out are apparently a-okay. 🤷‍♀️

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 24 — Favourite horror movie scene: The seagulls death scene in Triangle (2009) always makes me go, "Damn, this movie's so fucking great!". Honourable mention: Whispering from the closet in Black Christmas (1974)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 23 — The greatest horror-comedy film: What We Do in the Shadows (2014) Honestly, my life hasn't been the same after discovering the comedic genius of Clement and Waititi. Honourable mention: Scary Movie (2000)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 20 — Your favourite horror movie performance: Desiree Gould as Aunt Martha in Sleepaway Camp (1983). A minor part, but enormous and unhinged performance, as it should be. Honourable mention: Grace Jones as Katrina in Vamp (1986)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 19 — The horror film that frightens you the most: Lake Mungo (2008) The only film to ever make me lose sleep. Went a long time without seeing it because I thought it would just be a ghost story. Turns out there's much more than that. Honourable mention: It Follows (2014)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 18 — Your favourite horror from the 1980s: Santa Sangre (1989) Saw this recently in a theatre. What a gorgeous film! I'm also a sucker for stories with uncomfortable mother-son relationships, so there's definitely that. Honourable mention: Brain Damage (1988)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 17 — The last horror film you watched: Brainscan (1994) This had been on my watchlist forever, and I finally had some time to kill and watch it. Aggressively and disgustingly (positively) '90s.

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 15 — Favourite foreign (let's do non-English, I guess) language horror: Tetsuo (1989) A gorgeous, relentless attack on the senses, but in the best possible way. Honourable mention: Los Cronocrímenes (2007)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 14 — The greatest vampire movie: Blade (1998) Only got around to watching this recently and was surprised to really enjoy the silliness of it. Everybody in this is so hot, too. Really want to attend a blood rave now. Honourable mention: Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 13 — Your favourite 21st century horror: The Lighthouse (2019) Must have been the last movie I saw in a theatre before the pandemic, so it stayed with me a long time. Might be time for a rewatch, though. Honourable mention: Cam (2018)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 12 — Your favourite horror from the 1970s: Shivers (1975) Tough to pick a favourite from a decade as full of fantastic classics like the '70s. This started my love of Cronenberg. Honourable mention: The Wicker Man (1973)

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 11 — Favourite horror movie franchise: Friday the 13th There are so many great (better...) franchises out there, but none that make me feel as nostalgic as the goofiness of all those sequels. Honourable mention: Final Destination

30-Day Horror Challenge Day 8 — The best horror movie sequel: Creep 2 (2017) Manages to nearly outdo the first one. The Creep Tapes proved I could watch the same story play out again and again, never getting bored of it. Honourable mention: Aliens (1986)

30 Day Horror Challenge Day 7 — Your favourite horror from the 1960s: Carnival of Souls (1962) Having never done a deeper dive into '60s horror (only seen the classics), this is so far my favourite. Honourable mention: Peeping Tom (1960)

Just got back home from the voting booths. I've always wondered if Americans are actually given those funny stickers when they vote or if it's just a TV and movie thing. Feels like the kinda dumb childish thing they would do. I've been too afraid to ask.

Our old cat Olli from when I was a kid. He was a rescue and sadly not with us for very long (diabetes). He was the most handsome lil' man, loved shiny materials, meowing along while listening to Howard Jones and making sin biscuits on a fluffy pink Bratz pillow I had. ❤️ #Caturday

I sure hope the Greenlanders have their snowballs ready.
