Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 6) #21 A nice enough finale. Ransom's heartless metaphor is hit a little heavy, but mostly lands. The family stuff is nice to read, and isn't too forced. The art is great and the convention is fun. The villain being a common kidnapper took the wind out of the sails a bit.

Ultimates (Vol. 3) #16 Ms Walters! Love the easter eggs in this one. It's nice to get a street level-random-person story in the middle of the high-level-heroics. The neighbors and friends as part of the network were a nice touch. This run continues to write Humanity into every beautiful panel.

Ultimate Black Panther #20 Always enjoy a mystic journey, particularly one as beautiful as this visit with Bast. Gods & Aliens‽ Archivists are a weird threat but the pacing in this tale is so good. Love the final rescue, T'Challa is a leader & so well written here. "Roar" brought a tear to my eye.

Runaways (Vol. 6) #4 Love Nico taking digs at magic schools. Doombot takes his responsibilities seriously. Love Nico & Gert combo power-up! Reunion & Argument hits very emotionally, but that conclusion and letter! This run is hitting all the right rhythms for me.

Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #2 The invasion is swift! Erik's death is disturbing. Can't believe they got the jump on Scott! Kraven knows who (& How) to hit first, but I don't believe Cap is gone. Hope we see the X-Men fight back. Now that the brawl is engaged it'll be all out! So good!

Phoenix #15 The Phoenix holds their own against the other Embodiments, which is an impressive display of power in the background of this issue. Circular logic goes around & around; Embodiments are too human but not human enough. Not-Sara continues to be. Jean is happy with her family. The end.

New Avengers (Vol. 5) #4 Glad Clea's having fun. Namor's narration as he's puppeted is tragic. Laura! She annoys Namor into breaking the mind control, Carnage gets to do what he does. This team is wild; I'm having fun with them (& their entendres). Writing keeps the fun coming; art works in action.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #38 Felicia will never not needle a spider. Miles proves worthy of Misty's guidance while they track down some new thieves (Not hating the debut). The fight is fun, but the Friendly Neighborhood wins out. Time to team up and take the fight to the bad guy.

Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 Big fan of All covers. Pairings are excellent. Bruce pitting Wade & Joker against each other is so good. Cap & WW made me mourn a relationship that never existed. Jeff & Krypto play, Ollie & Matt team up, Rocket gets a ring, Logan faces Batman, then becomes Logo? Fun!

Magik (Vol. 2) #10 Embodiment has one long tantrum. Fight is great, love seeing the diverse skills & tactics Illyana can employ. Trapping a mage in a mystic library isn't the smartest jail, but works. Cal is free to become a character! Thankfully Dani turns down the society; she needs her own team.

Incredible Hulk (Vol. 6) #29 Hulk continues to face off with Eldest, even on the Requiem Plain. More mystical great Lore around the One Above/Below All, the writing works it into the plot. Then we get to the violence, chaotic and rageful, before the reveal of whose flesh Eldest chose to fight in.

Fantastic Four (Vol. 8) #3 Love that this run is leaning into the continuity and the cool. A time engine! "Ben Smash!" Johnny's giving the people pecs! Reed stretches his eyes and it is so gross. Love Sue knocking Doom's Mask off, I could see it over and over again. This run is a joy.

Deadpool/Wolverine #9 The Logan-Hulk is creepy. Legacy is growing on me, with his cries for help and sloppy kisses. He's just a big guy! This situation Does deserve a paragraph of Grawlix. I still don't like anything about Talyn, doesn't do it for me as a villain. Apocalypse has such involved plots.

Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 7) #12 Love Norman getting a taste of the Spider life, seeing what it takes to be a hero in small moments. I want nice things for Ben, poor guy. Hope being Pete for a bit doesn't hurt. The confrontation with the spiders (GWEN!) really worked for me. Great writing & pacing.

X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1 Writing worked well for me, building through the issue. Fun to see this version of the team back together again; I missed the Exiles. Romantic drama giving Camelot vibes with its love triangle. Some cameos are appreciated. Excited for the mission, & holy crap it's Nate!

Wolverines & Deadpools #3 Shadow King is always a villain I love facing, & this is a great showdown. Ellie & Wade's connection is tested, while Logan & Laura don't need to prove their relationship. A great conclusion, pacing and action keeping time with the quips. It's her first 4th wall break!

Undead Iron Fist #1 Love when Luke gets caught in his feelings. I'm more intrigued by the afterlife-Danny fighting the dragon and meeting up with Orson. Undead-Danny almost teaming up with Miles is a fun moment though. Enjoy the fight with the family & the move titles. I'm getting drawn in.

Ultimate Wolverine #9 The XS are horrifying. The Summers brothers! Interesting action pieces. Slicing up Sentinels is a classic, so it's nice to see this team do some of that. Dark issue in art and writing, looking forward to the conclusion it's setting up.

Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #4 Miles and Mei have an incredible dynamic. New best friends! Love the Magik sword fight, so cool! D'Costa is so creepy; Poor Blink & Longshot! I hope this unlocks something in Billie, but also that she gets to be a kid. (No Gerry treatment for her, please.)

Superior Avengers #6 Future Annihilus still freaks me right out. The team falls apart, as villains are wont to do. Doom is here in person! Kristoff disappoints him again, but sets off on a new quest I am so excited for. Ghost and Killmonger are lose in 616; one hell of a way to end the story.

Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse #5 Spider-Venom is Fascinating. The Web-Heart & Hive-Mind are both kinda jerks? Love that Peter recognizes Eddie's vulnerability as a strength. That moment made the run for me, and there have been a lot of cool things in this one. Wish 616 Eddie got this understanding.

Red Hulk #8 Shocked Tamika would still try to defend "following orders". And then she pretends it's different if she doesn't know what the orders mean? Sure Jan. The Shark-men are so scary, love the design. MachineMan & Deathlock becoming friends is adorable. Hit 'em with the Washington Monument!

Punisher: Red Band #1 Frank is back! But how‽ Why‽ For what purpose‽ No one knows. Not even him. Much more interesting route for Kingpin's redemption than praying. Tombstone's terrifying when not PG-13. Mind controlled Frank‽ Terrifying. Dark writing with bloody action will satisfy any horror fan.

One World Under Doom #7 This Writing! After last issues revelations the way people just ignore reality is horrifying, and very relevant right now. Modok!? Love the all-out-assault pages. Scientist Supreme!!! Doom's Hubris is always astounding, but Reed has plans within plans. What a cliffhanger!

Imperial War: Nova - Centurion #1 Richard & Worldmind are fascinating. Loved the panels in his thoughtspace. Corrupted Worldmind is terrifying, even if it's all in his head. "Maturity" Ha! Love that it comes back to religious cults. Every time. Enjoying every layer in this plot. Inhumans Incoming!

Hellverine (Vol. 2) #10 I still feel bad for Akihiro. Lovely to have Aurora back. HellHulk & Mephisto punching each other to hell is very fitting. I do not understand why he needs the demon to live. I do not understand why he's still with the government team. Hell Hulk will return again, I'm sure.

Exceptional X-Men #13 "Past" dialogue is a little forced. Why doesn't Emma just *connect* Kitty to the team? She & Bronze have a nice moment that reminds me of when Kate ran the school. Love that as smart as Riri is she is not a leader; always funny. Quick resolution to wrap this run up.

Edge of Venomverse (Vol. 2) #1 The infinity Comic gives backstories to the versions we're seeing in Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse. Some good stories and good versions in here. Enjoyable art all around. I like the set up for the current vs run, it really works.

Eddie Brock: Carnage #8 Lot of car talk; also a cop car covered in blood is an "art project"? Muse hates predictability, ironic given how predictable Carnage is. Eddie makes it to Spokane, but it's symbiote history so there's always a twist. Oh Eddie, just have a second thought sometimes.

Captain America (Vol. 14) #3 Dark-Star is not my favorite CA uniform. Weird to see Doom with a shrine to Cap & Bucky. The modern war/unfreezing still isn't sitting well with me, but this seems to be a critique of it all & I'm not mad. (Is Colton meant to emulate MCU Walker? Why not just use him?)

Wolverine (Vol. 8) #13 "The Claw-Father"! Ha! Logan and Kurt's friendship is so important to me. Maybe Logan should try shrooms & therapy instead of booze? Kicking down doors even by invitation; So rash. Fun fight scenes. Transitions to the next chapter, and may pay off down the line?

Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 6) #20 Monet is incredible. Ellis deserves so much worse than being told off. Oh boy, a cult of white hoods talking about pure blood. Undercover work in X-Uniform? Choices. But it's immediately a fight anyway. I appreciate getting to know Ransom more and the cultural touches.

Ultimate X-Men (Vol. 2) #19 Love the all-out battle. Action is expressed beautifully & emotionally. Maester continues to terrify me, but then Shinobu steps in. It's startling, horrifying, and somehow gorgeous. How does this comic keep doing it‽ So excited for where this is all going.

Spider-Man '94 #1 The Nostalgia is strong with this one, but the art really nails it. As a first issue needing to be both a relaunch And a recap, it handles both parts well. Morlun and Kaine are interesting variations and I'm looking forward to this run.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #12 We are off on a new mission! I agree the Mission is to help, but ghosts are rarely that easily dealt with. Fortunately there's ghost armor & a magic crowbar. A surprise reunion asking the real questions, I love when there are cross purposes like this. Plot intrigues.

Magik (Vol. 2) #9 Magik has a perfectly fine definition of fun. Love the lessons of leadership, Dani is obviously a truer leader than the Embodiment could ever hope to become. The backstory actually makes me distrust and dislike her more. I'll be glad when Dani and Illyana are done with them.

Laura Kinney: Wolverine #10 Gabby attracts friends & help, Xarus is no exception. She's an amazing Wolverine. As is Jonathon. They help everyone, even pitiable Strega. I hope they find their family like Laura and Gabby have. Closing up a fantastic run of amazing art/writing with more of the same.

It's Jeff & Other Marvel Tails #1 The infinity comics reprinted are very fun to read. It's nice for kids to hold instead of a screen, and the comics themselves are adorable. Everyone loves Jeff, and with his animal pals it's even better. Good writing and Art work together to make this so solid.

Imperial War: Exiles #1 The Shi'ar have yet another D'Ken problem, this time an upstart bastard nobody. Hilarious he claims to be against unstable Nobles when that's his entire claim/goal. Deathbird is always so sharp. Xavier takes his helmet off & almost mentions Krakoa! Exiles are coming.

Gwenpool #5 We discover the big bad is, in the words of Gwen, "A Self-insert" which would be villainous enough. A desire to make the book good by adding Spider-Man, like his fans aren't the most fickle. Although all fans are fickle, which is kinda a point? Interesting ending to the arc at least.

Doctor Strange (Vol. 7) #450 Fun stories cutting to the heart of the Doctor. Strange learns Cloak is living in Joy & teaches the basics of magic connection to Illyana. At a haunted house Black Fox confirms that life is for living, & an astral conversation helps with out-of-control fear. Good work.

Avengers (Vol. 9) #30 Art on the X-Men makes them look much more appropriately adult, intriguing they are a substitute for the Avengers in the current political climate. Love Avengers assembling in a circuit. Myrddin & the Zombies are formidable, but they got this. Still, City summons an old friend.

Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 7) #11 Lucky for Ben Felicia is here. I'm a little confused on why he'd help cover for Peter, but ok. May is the one I'm really feeling for in this. Peter is on a space adventure getting stronger, but things aren't what they seem. A new suit, plus Rocket & a lil' symbiote‽

All-New Venom #10 Conversations about relationships abound. Dylan has a lot of feelings, but I feel bad for Paul. MJ compares Venom to her abusive father and then "An ex-boyfriend"? The conversation in the mindscape feels canned to me. At Least Rick is dealing with PTSD, even if Toxin sets it off.

X-Men: Tooth and Claw #1 Infinity comics in print. I don't like the RLDS plot at all, but the conversation with the rabbi was great. Hank meets his literal match and does some reflecting.

X-Men (Vol. 7) #21 Quentin's riot is reduced to very little. Somehow the X-Men lose their footing here. Magik's just getting kicked by Trevor‽ Jen's lizard form is cool; good for her? Interesting Arakko hasn't been forgotten completely, just abandoned by the X-Men.

Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #5 The writing in this concluding issue is excellent as ever. I'm still unclear about the Snow Samurai, and would think the Ziggy/Kitty merger would have had more of an impact canonically. The fights are cool. "Visuals are easy. The reality's what matters."

West Coast Avengers (Vol. 4) #10 Love that the failsafe is still a gun that shoots the Wasp. The Ultron-Slab is a terrifying piece I wish were real. Interesting fate for the three Ultrons. Tony is obsessing, Angelica and Tommy are growing. New rehab-recruits‽ Interesting place to leave it.

Ultimate Spider-Man (Vol. 3) #20 There is a... journey of facial expressions happening. I wish more happened. MJ gets some answers but clearly not all. Gwen is less than convincing but she does make her case. I'm on the fence.

Thor (Vol. 7) #1 A Mortal! I rather like Sigurd. Even if he and his neighbors are blasé about his lack of history/identity. Lucky is a fine guise. Don't work for Roxxon! Phew, good speech too. Rough hammer fight! What's to come Next‽ An intense debut.
