Great discussions yesterday and today in Milan, with my friend @majedalansari.bsky.social and impressive lineup of experts brougth together by @ispionline.bsky.social and @DohaForum. I called for a region-led diplomatic solution, and spoke about EU contribution.

I convened today a meeting with GCC Ambassadors in Brussels to exchange on the situation in the Gulf and the intense EU outreach in the past months. The EU remains committed to its strategic partnership with GCC countries, to their security, and to regional peace and stability.

Very happy to have attended the @AntalyaDF. This was a unique opportunity to exchange with leaders and experts on the current situation in the wider Gulf and Middle East and to convey Europe's support to sustainable peace and stability, and unimpeded freedom of navigation.

Grateful to Bahraini top officials for receiving me today in a challenging context. I expressed EU condemnation of Iranian attacks against Bahrain, our full solidarity & support to our strategic partner's security&territorial integrity, to the freedom of navigation& to diplomacy.

Very important meeting today in Abu Dhabi w/ HE Dr. @AnwarGargash, Diplomatic Advisor to UAE President, to express full EU solidarity w/ #UAE &its people. Regional military escalation&Iranian attacks against the UAE&GCC countries have to stop &freedom of navigation reestablished.

Excellent meeting w/ @jasemalbudaiwi @GCCSG to express EU solidarity w/ the GCC countries&explore concrete ways how EU-GCC strategic partnership can provide the support &diplomatic ways for military de-escalation, stop of Iranian attacks against the GCC &freedom of navigation.

Very important meeting in #Riyadh with HE @W_Elkhereiji, Deputy Minister @KSAmofaEN to express full EU solidarity w/ the Kingdom&its people. Regional military escalation&Iranian attacks against the Kingdom & the GCC countries have to stop &freedom of navigation reestablished.

Deeply saddened by the passing of HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud. A respected statesman whose decades of service helped shape Oman’s development & stability. My heartfelt condolences to His Majesty, the Royal Family, the Government and the people of Oman during this time of mourning.

Honoured to have joined today 🇪🇺 @eucopresident Antonio Costa & 🇪🇺PCOM @vonderleyen for the VTC with Leaders of the Middle East, including from the GCC countries, on the military escalation in the region and ongoing efforts to restore peace and security.

This is the most consequential test for the EU-GCC Strategic Partnership, which is now translated into concrete joint actions to advance diplomacy and security of our strategic partners and of the region as reflected in the joint statement.(2/2)

Just concluded two key ministerial meetings of the EU-GCC Joint Council & High Level Forum co-chaired by HE Foreign Minister Al-Yahya @MOFAKuwait & HR/VP @kajakallas. The substantive exchanges & the joint statement reflect the growing ambition, trust (1/2)

Excellent discussion today in Brussels w/ HE Faisal Alibrahim, Saudi Minister of Economy&Planning @falibrahim on the upcoming launch of negotiations for a 🇪🇺🇸🇦 Strategic Partnership Agreement, trade, AI, climate &competitiveness and the positive and ambitious EU-GCC agenda.

Historic day for moving to the next level of ambition:  today EU Member States authorised the High Representative and the European Commission to launch negotiations on a Strategic Partnership Agreement with each of the GCC countries. Happy to contribute to make this a success!

Removal from the #EU list of high-risk countries, proposed by EU #Commission and approved by the #EP, recognizes #UAE efforts to improve its #AML/CTF regime. We will continue to address jointly these challenges, and strengthen cooperation.

Honoured to represent the EU at the preparatory meeting in NY in view of the June UN High-Level Conference on the two-state solution to be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia. EU is working very closely with its partners to bring about concrete results towards a lasting peace.

Key Global Alliance meeting today in Rabat co-organized by Morocco & Netherlands. The EU & its partners developed concrete action oriented inputs to the UN High Level Conference in June. Urgent to deepen & accelerate the work of the Alliance to advance the Two-State solution.

Today at @Investinom, @EUSR_Gulf delivered a keynote on EU-Omani relations, highlighting our strong partnership. Productive meetings with H.E. Qais Al Yousef @Tejarah_om, H.E. Salim Al Aufi @memgovom, and H.E. Khalifa Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs @FMofOman.

Very honoured to have participated today in an amazing panel of experts on human capital development at @HCI_KSA. We exchanged on ways to develop education and training partnerships for our countries to adapt in a fast-changing world.

Very fruitful meetings and exchanges at @AntalyaDF this year. In this time of uncertainty in the Middle East and beyond, it was important to get insights from regional and international leaders and to explain to our partners Europe's action in the region.

Very important to meet the Palestinian Ambassador @AmalJadou7 before the 1st ever EU-PA HLD. EU stands by a two state solution & supports PA reforms. We need immediate return to the ceasefire, the release of all hostages by Hamas & unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
