Rotterdam, becoming more and more my favorite Dutch city. With a a visit to new Fenix museum (with a photo by Gordon Parks that Mavis Staples used for her We Get By album from '19), digging at Demonfuzz, Plaatboef and Plato, and dim sum at China Town.

Autechre in a dark Melkweg last Wednesday. Great set, but too crowded. Support by Russell Haswell and the excellent Roel Funcken.

Aachen, with two beautiful expos at the Ludwig Forum: Rochelle Feinstein (Red Dawn!) and Amy Sillman, a visit to the fantastic Plattenbau record store, the Dom and more.

Legendary punk band D.O.A. and awesome locals Scumbag Roads at the Ballonfabrik in Augsburg. Lovely city, with some nice finds at Pits Record Store.

Nürnberg, with the impressive Kongresshalle and Zeppelinfeld on the Reichsparteitagsgelände, and some digging at mono-Ton and the excellent Vinylio.

Rainy Bamberg. Still colourful though, with some spectacular views over the city, a new romantic rose garden, great finds at Monochrom Records and dramatic sunsets at the campsite.

Köln day 2: Eigelstein-Viertel, Drake Records, Museum Ludwig with as a highlight the video expo on children's games by Francis Alys, the Mosul Iraq being particularly impressive and heartbreaking, and the Rhein river.

Köln day 1: Museum for East-Asian Arts, Belgisches Viertel, three record stores (Parallel Schallplatten, Andrä, a-Musik), view from Poll on the Rhein river.
