This photo represented the sleek and modern future in 1982. Today’s EPCOT is transformed in almost every way. But regardless of which you like better, the question is: would you be excited if you could visit this original version, even if for just one day?

Have you heard of the S.S. Disney? This repurposed oil tanker would have been full of Disney attractions and sailed from city to city around the world. Imagine It’s a Small World, Dumbo, and even Space Mountain pulling up to your city for a two-month run. Would you have visited?

Are you sad to see the “Rock ‘n Roller Coaster” closing? Don’t forget that one already closed years ago when the version at Disney Studios Paris was converted into “Avengers Assemble: Flight Force”. Is it better to see Iron Man fly or the Muppets rock?

What a view! Gone forever, but some of us remember. Were you around? It may seem simplistic, but it was also kind of amazing.

Most Disney fans hate the rampant overuse of screens on rides, but how about when they are used like this? Massive physical sets, water, and special effects, all perfectly integrated with huge super high-definition screens. This is about as far from Ratatouille as you can get! Yeah or nay?

The coolest animatronic in Disneyland Paris, and possibly anywhere, is often overlooked by guests panicking to their next ride. Have you seen “La Tanière du Dragon” hidden under the castle? And did you know Tokyo had a similar dragon years prior?

Have you ridden, or even heard of “Crush's Coaster”? It’s an inexplicably popular “wild mouse” coaster in the dreadful Disney Studios Paris park. The park is changing, but this ride will remain untouched. Will it still get multi-hour waits for what is basically a carnival ride?

Should Disney bring back the original look of the Contemporary Resort? Well, the actual original rooms were totally generic, but after a quick refurb, they added Mary Blair artwork and new furniture. Carpeted headboards anybody? We think a lot of people today would LOVE this!

Is Pooh’s Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland the most whimsical ride ever? It’s full of silly moments, but our favorite is when the vehicles break loose, spin chaotically, and “dance” with each other, including a near miss with a ride vehicle filled with Heffalumps and Woozles!

It is, without question, the single greatest whale-shaped, indoor, theme park gift shop ever created! The Sleepy Whale Shoppe, with its squishy tongue-like floor, lords above all others, but have you ever been? It’s not the only reason to visit Tokyo, but it’s a good one

Hondo Ohnaka, from Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, and Winnie-the-Pooh, from your childhood, could not be more different, but they’re the same guy! Disney mainstay Jim Cummings voices both. Listen, can you hear Tigger as well? Now you can annoy your friends with this fact while in line!

Did you happen to catch this dinosaur? It lasted less than a year and a half, and it’s probably the least-seen major animatronic Disney has ever had. If you got to see it in person, you’re officially an Animal Kingdom OG. If not, maybe your parents did!

Imagine waiting in line for an hour, or burning a Lightning Lane, to ride Na'vi River Journey. Then floating through four minutes of boredom to get to the big finale only to see this! “B-Mode” is video projected onto what appears to be a bed sheet. What the? Would you be upset with this?

Remember when Disney got deep into sports in the 90s? They owned the MLB Angels and the NHL Mighty Ducks. They even made the Ducks logo part of the All-Star Sports resort! Have you ever checked it out? Before they brought back the OG logo, this must have confused tons of guests!

Figment has been represented in many ways, but are any as horrific as this inflatable Figment bursting from a box that ends up looking like a small squat-able toilet? Did anyone actually see this thing during its brief run at EPCOT?

Sure, Tangled is represented in the Magic Kingdom, in the form of bathrooms. Meanwhile, Tokyo DisneySea gets this! Note quite the same. We wonder if we will ever see these Japanese rides stateside?

Remember the huge animatronic iguanodon that originally frolicked in Animal Kingdom’s river? He could only be seen on the boat ride. Did you know that he was meant to be the same character guests brought back on Countdown to Extinction? They saved him; now he lives in the park!

The queue for Soarin’ at Disney California Adventure is an uninspired plane hanger. At EPCOT, it’s an airport, maybe, we guess? Meanwhile, Tokyo DisneySea gets a stunning aviation museum set in a Renaissance palace! We wonder if the Japanese realize just how good they have it!

OK. Let’s get granular. There are Disney park fans who will kind of sort of understand where this photo was taken. Then there are nut jobs who will know EXACTLY where this photo was taken. So are you a fan, or are you a nut job? Or don’t you even understand? No wrong answers.

The Polynesian Resorts original lobby was incredible, and not just because of the rainforest. The overall style, vibe, colors, and materials were somehow quintessentially 1970s but also timeless. Does anyone else remember the lobby’s unique scent? What made it so awesome?

Disney didn’t need to add dam doors holding back the bay, but they did, and it’s one of the best details in all of Tokyo DisneySea. Many guests, perhaps most, won’t spot it. But details like this delight those who do. It’s the difference between good and great.

Pirates of the Caribbean is regarded as Disney’s quintessential classic, the one that set the benchmark. But were you “lucky” enough to experience the infamous flop “The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow”? This Pirates spin-off ranks as one of Disney’s least loved attractions ever!

Tokyo DisneySea is widely regarded as the world’s greatest theme park, and it’s easy to see why. The Electric Railway is a third-tier attraction serving mainly as transportation, and yet even then, you get this! Is there a better reveal to a land anywhere?

Remember the giant pin tables from the original Image Works? You could use your hand or be a rebel and try to jam your entire face under there! EPCOT even recently used them during a festival. Are we crazy for finding that much more exciting than some new drink or popcorn bucket?

The Art of Animation was originally set to be the Pop Century: Legendary Years, before the great recession derailed it. What child doesn’t dream of old-timey budget motels from a time before grandpa was born? It sat half-built for over a decade, but did Disney dodge a bullet?

Remember Pleasure Island? Or more specifically, do you remember when its single admission ticket gained entry into every venue? But look closer, this is the special discounted version for Magic Kingdom Club members. Eleven bucks for all that fun! Imagine. We want the 90s back!

This is a theme park walkway, but it looks like a national park or perhaps an amazing movie set. We are often more excited by a park’s themed spaces than any of the actual rides. Tell us we are not alone! Do guests today still care about this level of detail?

People complain about how bland the new designs for EPCOT are, and listen, we agree. But look at this beauty. Does anyone recall what beloved attraction had this masterpiece of theming as its queue? Sometimes the past is viewed through heavily rose-colored glasses.

Hong Kong Disneyland was built with a limited budget and scale; however, Disney used the location’s natural resources to stunning effect. Have you seen those rolling mountains? It’s unlike any other Disney park and a wonderful example of using existing beauty to great effect!
