This whole Fanime weekend has been a huge eye opener about cosplay photography at conventions. I thought cis-male-cosplayers-who-only-photograph-certain-looking-women was just a myth, or just the 0.00001% population. I am too optimistic. I saw things I did not want to see four feet away from me 🙃

"But Penny, why aren't you editing the photos, and writing some blog?" Because I've got at least a few THOUSAND photos to upload into my computer and external drive, and that'll take at least half the day. ...and that's another story to add to my blog article 🫠

I got food poisoning, so I am too sick and tired to go check out Fanime today. I didn't even get time to check out artist alley *sigh* Anyways, I've got one hell of an essay to write about this convention today, and I'm going to need to cut it in sections for my ko-fi 😅💀

If a cosphotographer turns you down, because the way you look is 'not their style' (as in your physical appearance), it's 100% a skill issue. On the other hand, when you can pull off a satisfying photo no matter what gender, race, height, weight, etc. now THAT is a respectable photographer 😉

I was planning a Chainsaw Man cosplay shoot this weekend, and they switched to a different series last minute 💀 I made this handheld filter specifically for that cosplay too! Such a bummer. I hope some appropriate cosplayer will approach me one day. It would be perfect for Mortal Kombat!

I finally caught up with The Mandalorian, season 3 Although there were some good episodes, most of S3 felt like a weak main storyline. I originally enjoyed it for the slow paced world-building and character development, but season 3 mostly felt like Grogu screentime. Still, great background music.

Another series people don't know about or brush off is Scissor Seven. It's a Chinese animation, and the humor and action is very much peak. lrt: I am doing 'research' to prepare for my cosplay gathering shoot for 'Critical Role'. A friend told me it had to do with some game, and this show, so I watched the whole series. I don't want to half ass my camera work here; there are so many people looking forward to this once-a-year getogether.

I usually don't judge a series until I've seen all of it, and I finished Vox Machina, but a bit confused and surprised it has such an insanely high score on imdb. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but not a 8.4 imdb good. But damn, Percival is quite the gentleman though.

And lastly, some of my favorite photos from the #OaklandZoo I learned all sorts of fun facts about animals today. Also, someone ran an entire stroller over my foot without realizing, and there were also three schools with field trips, so tons of screaming and howling kids 💀

The #OaklandZoo had a bug exhibit, and as you can see, even though my camera prime lens couldn't pull off far away images, it captured some very powerful close-up photos. The massive cockroach crawling on the lady's hand gave me goosebumps when I first saw it!

I went to the zoo today. I wanted to take some nice photos of birds, but I just don't own anything resembling telephoto equipment, so the pics ended up looking kind of mediocre boring. So here is a photo of a lizard making a derpy face at me.

I KNEW IT OMG I love that this manga feels like the author has adhd, making every typical Shonen Jump plot point only last a few chapters, and takes their time on the deeper parts of the story. It's a very unique way of scripting, compared to your usual Shonen series. comicbook.com/anime/news/2...

Those last couple One Piece chapters are getting really fired up! It makes me wonder-there's such a huge gap of history in One Piece that is missing. I wonder if that knowledge is the "One Piece", which would then free the world of the World Nobles or something. Nico's backstory would make sense 🤔
