New batch of shells for pilgrims to St Magnus Cathedral, Orkney. Scallop shells are a symbol of pilgrimage. These come from Orkney waters, pilgrims receive one and a certificate on completing the St Magnus Way at the cathedral in Kirkwall.

Kate and our neighbours the Carmichaels started a tradition of singing carols in our village of Evie on Christmas Eve in 2021 during lockdown (which luckily wasn't very strict in Orkney at that time). So we continued the tradition tonight, The Fourth Christmas Evie Carol Sing :-)

This is the gorgeous Georgian Hoose. In the winter, while the holiday let is closed, we can have fun events in there! Coming up this Saturday is The Dark Side of Kirkwall walking tour and storytelling with Georgian Supper at the Hoose. Lorraine Johnston is the Georgian period chef!
