The Tall Ships Races are in Aberdeen - we’re running an extra train today - at 18.15 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh - to help get everyone home! On Sunday the extra services will be 08.10 from Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen and 18.15 from Aberdeen to Newcastle

I was in Edinburgh today, the city where Sir Nigel Gresley was born 149 years ago today, 19 June 1876. As Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Northern Railway from 1911 and the London & North Eastern Railway until 1941, this plaque at Edinburgh Waverley station commemorates his achievements.

Good to visit Bounds Green depot in north London today, one of the Hitachi Rail depots where the @lner.co.uk Azuma fleet is maintained. Constant focus to keep these trains presentable and reliable!

Our @lner.co.uk machine learning team has built a model which predicts delays at our stations, so that our station teams can plan and react accordingly. We’ve been trialling this at Peterborough and Newark - over 450 potential delays have been avoided so far. Now being rolled out elsewhere!

Remembering the 10 people who died in the Selby rail crash at Great Heck, 24 years ago on this day. Ten people lost their lives in this tragedy - railwaymen Raymond Robson, Paul Taylor and John Weddle (all GNER), Steve Dunn (Freightliner driver) and six passengers. Another 80 were seriously injured.
