Nursery’s Rosen Class enjoyed a HUGE Poetry Party on Thursday 13 November to celebrate Michael Rosen Day - the inspiring person their class was named after.

Year 4 Edwards Class - like other classes across SSq - have been enjoying the @Intofilm_edu Festival this month. The cinema is a short bus ride away (172) and offers a ‘Pay What You Can’ series on Saturday mornings for families. For more information visit the cinema website.

🐦 Year 2 Artists Flying High! 🎨 As part of their art day for Foundation Week, Year 2 classes took inspiration from Picasso, Miro and Klee. They watched bird drawing tutorials and looked at pictures in books. They then drew birds in the style of the artists.

Year 4 enjoyed a recent trip to The Tate Modern in preparation for their still-life art work in foundation week. The children looked at a variety of artists and then had a chance to do some sketching. They took this inspiration back to school for their art day as part of foundation week.

​It was Perera class' turn to visit Westminster Cathedral last week. Breeda and Jen took us on an animal hunt in the Cathedral, and we discovered there are 503 animals on the walls, ceilings and floors! We also learned about the symbolism of the animals and their meaning.

​Last week, Year 1 went on a trip to Burgess park to look for signs of autumn (their science topic is seasonal changes) and to notice human and physical features (for geography).

​Last week, Year 3 went on an art trip to sketch the different landmarks along the River Thames. They started the walk in Parliament Square sketching Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament. #TeamSsq
