The Dario Agento documentary on Shudder is really solid. If you’re a fan of Argento’s work or just interested in unconventional visionary filmmakers, Panico is worth checking out.

If I had to trace my love of horror back to one source, it would probably be this Creepy Classics video narrated by Vincent Price that my brother and I watched countless times as kids at our grandparent’s house. My brother just found a copy at a used book store in Gainesville and sent me this pic.

Got to play with one of my favorite people tonight- Dolette McDonald sang with everyone from The Rolling Stones and Steve Winwood to Sting and Talking Heads, and is one of the most talented and charming people I’ve ever known. So grateful every time I get to share the stage with her!

Two years ago today, I bought my first Telecaster! Took a bit of adjustment after twenty years on a Strat, but this one’s become my main guitar and I love how reliable and versatile it is.

Went to Halloween Horror Nights with my brother last night. The Friday the 13th house was pretty fun as we both grew up watching those flicks and the Terrifier house was well done too (with about the same production values as the films 😂).

Revisited Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight- Such a fun flick. So many good one-liners and Billy Zane’s demon baddie is charismatic as hell. The whole cast really sells it and the premise is so effective in its simplicity. Saw it as a kid and have enjoyed it every time I’ve watched it since. 👍

This 64-page adaptation leaves out nothing from the animated film except dramatic pauses so it reads like those videos where someone speed runs through Super Mario 💨

Watched Dangerous Animals- I would only recommend to hardcore horror fans as some of the violence was hard to stomach even for a thoroughly desensitized viewer like myself. But it’s shot surprisingly well with an interesting, brighter palette and Jai Courtney is menacing as the shark-like villain.

Happy birthday to the one and only Frank Robbins. Some either love his art or dislike it but I've always loved his work. So much so that I own an original Invaders page and a Johnny Hazard Sunday page!

55 years ago (1970), Jimi Hendrix played his last show in Fehmarn, Germany. 12 days later, he died of asphyxiation brought on by barbiturates. His debut album with the Experience was released in 1967…

Friendship is one of the more unnerving films I’ve watched this year- It’s essentially a straight-up horror movie about the challenges of making friends post-childhood and the creeping, inescapable mundanity of adulthood. And yes, my take on it probably says more about me than the film. 👀

I’ve been seeing this sign on the east side of River Street for years and decided to do a little digging to see if it’s true- The history of chicken fingers is not exact, but Spanky’s is usually listed in the top 3-4 restaurants that come up online. Any chicken finger historians know the real deal?

is a beautifully illustrated and ambitiously precise exploration of life, legacy, and the cyclical nature of fiction. What a read!! One of my favorite books of the year so far. 🏆 🏆
