Watching Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland for the first time in at least 30 years-

I haven’t connected with any of Williamson’s DC previous stuff, but saw Dark Crisis at the library and decided to check it out. Better than I expected and more enjoyable (IMHO) than DC K.O. or Absolute Power.

Some Alan Moore 2000 AD strips I haven’t read before in this collection and a lot of artists I like (Bryan Talbot, Alan Davis, Dave Gibbons, Garry Leach, Brendan McCarthy). Particularly enjoyed "The Regrettable Ruse of Rocket Redglare” and "Eureka.”

This Englehart issue of JLA is probably only of real interest to Snapper Carr and/or Mark Shaw "The Privateer” aficionados, but the bit where The Key traps the league in keyhole-shaped cells in dimensional limbo was cool.

This cover always makes me think Flash and Doom Patrol are just teaming up to stop Monsieur Mallah from getting into DJ-ing. 🎧

One realization about Miller’s Dark Knight Returns turning 40 is that the character has now spent almost half of their 87-year existence under the influence of the clinical, misanthropic depiction in DKR. That’s a lot of brooding!

I suspect my first experience with this book was different than the first generation of readers as my copy included a full script and thorough annotations from the author. I basically had Morrison hold my hand through it. And while I think there are some valid criticisms, I quite enjoy it.
