That's not right. The phrase is "Avoid it like the plague". Someone slightly mistranslated it, I bet, because the Black Death was certainly A Plague, but there have been enough other plagues that the phrase has generalized

I had a call with a Twitter friend for the first time in half a year since we talked last time. We caught up and shared that what apps we’re using for language leanings, which was Busuu. Then, we started complaining about how they change the price and discounted percentage ;D #langsky

It seems that you have to trim them into 1 inch when they grow to about 2 inches… to make them thicker I assume…🤔 I’ll didn’t trim one so it can keep growing as a test ;) #greeninions

I signed up for square dance lessons and went to the 1st one today. It will be weekly and 10 lessons :) The lesson is from 6:30pm to 8pm and there are three or four breaks. During the break time, I talk with some people so I count it as speaking practice (;

"kicked the bucket": I don't know the origin, but it is very common around here! "The lights are on but nobody's home": Basically "The person is alive, but there is no brain inside" lol. "A few [x] short of a [y]": x and y can be replaced! "A few fries short of a happy meal", etc.
