We've just been informed that, at the request of the contractor, this closure of Upper Dwyer Hill Road (Ward 5) from Ritchie Side Road to Galetta Side Rood has been extended by an extra two days. The road will need to remain closed until the end of the day Thursday, 23 October 2025.

I was pleased to be able to attend the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 616 West Carleton Halloween Seniors’ Social this past Thursday. It was great to visit with everyone, and special thanks to Julie and Sherry for managing this fun community event.

I enjoyed my rummaging on Sunday at the Galetta Rummage Sale. I’m sure I missed out some awesome stuff on Saturday, but did well on half-price Sunday. There are a couple of City outdoor rinks in need of an operator this winter. March Central Community Center (Boarded Rink) and Doug Rivington Park (Puddle Rink) are both in need of a contract holder.

There's another Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off coming up this Saturday. Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 8 am to 4 pm at the Strandherd Snow Dump Facility (4061 Strandherd Drive, access off Philsar Road).

Please be advised there may be some traffic slowdowns due to construction from Tuesday to Friday next week (Oct 14-17, 2025) on Thomas A. Dolan Parkway, 1.23 km east of Carp Road. During construction, a single lane of traffic will be open at all times (with flaggers).

Saturday was a big day in Ward 5 with the Bay Days Fall Festival as well as the inaugural Wing Dings event in Dunrobin. Heather-Lina and I had a blast at both events with no shortage of activities and great food to keep us going.
