Read my first ever Edward Abbey novel. I’ve read that this post-apocalyptic example may not be the best place to start, but since the setting “is a land of horses and motorcycles” — and that land, Phoenix, is next door to me — it was ideal. And I loved it… it certainly won’t be my last Abbey.
