I’ve had my EV car for 2 years now, and it is, hands down, the car that has the most number of strangers stopping me in the street to ask me about it. I imagine it’s like being famous, but in a really dull way.

I’ve had 30 books published in 13 years, and I’ve had a large number of people message me telling me they like, love, or even dislike my work. But I’ve only ever had one guy email me to tell me that using the Nazis as bad guys is unfair to Nazis.

Slow Horses season 5 was spectacular. One of the best shows in tv. A great cast, but Gary Oldman is a masterclass of acting.

The amount of time the BBC spend talking about Reform and Farage, they really should just have a “sponsored by” label on the screen.

In 15 years of working the railway, I had to deal with (I think) 5 derailments, 3 of which weren’t even in service, and none had serious injuries. Hearing of a train derailment this morning is scary, but zero major injuries is a good end to a scary situation.

Had a brilliant World Fantasy Con. Got to see many friends, and make new ones. Had a wonderful panel too, and generally, it was just an awesome few days. Happy to go home now though.

Minor spoiler for Alice in Borderland season 3 . . . . Watching the final episode of Alice in Borderland season 3 (the weakest of the 3) and all of a sudden Ken Watanabe is on screen. Didn’t expect that at all.

Went to the cinema with most of the family to watch Paranorman. Always loved the film, and it’s aged brilliantly. My kids watched it endlessly when they were little, which was preferable to stuff like Frozen.

The final manuscript for First Hunt has been uploaded to Amazon for release 28th October. Now, I can sit back and let the anxiety roll in.

Being a parent is basically letting your child make mistakes while constantly having the decency to not say “I told you so.”

Lake Placid is on. Betty White is absolutely magnificent in this film.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Good fun, cool stunts, a huge amount of sprinting, but that last 30 minutes drags like crazy. Glad the series got to finish their story though.

I always find it funny when I see someone describe the Democrats in America as a far-left party. In Europe, they wouldn't even be considered left-wing.

Eenie Meanie is another film that shows just how good Samara Weaving is. The film itself is only okay, but she’s brilliant in it.

Novocaine with Jack Quaid is mad. 100% utterly bonkers in every way. Some of the injuries are a little grim (the arm bone one was unpleasant), but it’s such a fun film.

First Hunt (out on 28th October) is the number 1 selling book in British Horror Fiction. Always nice to see.

Finished Ghost of Yōtei. A masterfully created game with a genuinely brilliant cast of characters and story.

A brilliant review for The Pilgrims of the Damned.

Every day I get new emails from people telling me that they can unlock the ‘hidden potential’ of my books. They’re such obvious scams that I’m beginning to find them quite insulting.

Kristi Noem suggesting they’ve arrested the girlfriend of one of the founders of Antifa, might just be one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. Churchill or FDR’s wife is going to be so mad.

The Tory party continuing to tell everyone how they’re going to fix all of the problems in the UK, but never mentioning they caused them to begin with, shows a complete lack of learning from past mistakes. As per usual.

Because I still feel rubbish, I figured I’d watch a film I’ve been meaning to get around to. Heart Eyes is a slasher horror-comedy, and it’s great fun. I had zero expectations but I really enjoyed it.

I get the flu jab every year and rarely feel anything more than a bit of soreness in my arm, but this one has made me feel awful. Better than getting flu, but it still sucks.

The Pilgrims of the Damned seems to have gone over well. “I truly love this series. And i didn't think anything would top Hellequin. Steve just makes the characters come to life, and you feel like you are friends with them. It's a great storyline, and hopefully, there will be many more to come.”

Just finished a sci-fi book set 200ish years in the future, and there was a point where a character was listing geniuses from their past. I knew what was coming before they even said his name, but I let out a disappointed sigh in the middle of Sainsbury’s when the narrator said Musk.

One of the big benefits of having a job I love doing, is I no longer dread a Sunday evening because it means I have to go to work tomorrow. Fulltime author for the win.

The new Naked Gun film is exceptionally good fun. 90 minutes of pure silliness.
