I’m done with work for a week now. Left the book in a good place, and after Christmas I can get it finished. To celebrate I’m going to have a glass of wine and watch Pacific Rim.

Just saw a video on Instagram with a Korean lady saying how to make a quick and easy dish, and she started with the phrase “take your homemade kimchi.” Me and her have different definitions of “quick and easy.”

Nine Puzzles on Disney Plus is a kdrama about a serial killer who starts killing again after 10 years. Like a lot of kdramas I’ve watched, it manages to be interesting, genuinely unsettling, and pretty funny. Excellent show.

Nobody 2 is fantastic. 90 minutes of ultra violent, comedic insanity.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Last Samurai Standing and it’s not quite what I expected. I thought it would be non stop action, and while the action is amazing, it’s mostly about a man with serious PTSD trying to come to terms with who he was and what he’s lost. It’s absolutely brilliant.

Watched Crimson Peak for the first time. It’s beautiful, as are all Guillermo del Toro films, and well acted, but the marketing for the film was terrible as it’s never a horror. It’s a gothic romance ghost story, and it never really tries to be anything else.

The Last Frontier is such a weird show. The half involving the cia, Marshal, and ex-operative is quite interesting. But the stuff with the family is dull, boring, and I really dislike the trope of smart person does increasingly stupid stuff to force a plot along.

Task is absolutely phenomenal tv. Everyone in it is brilliant, but Tom Pelphrey, Mark Ruffalo, and Emilia Jones deserve all of the awards.
