It takes me about 4 months to write a novel (without edits). Here are my tips: 1. Sit down and start writing 2. Be consistent in how long you write for. 3. There’s something quite wonderful about a plot piece clicking in your head before you’ve even started writing the book. It’s like a little bit of magic in my brain.

It’s Sunday, which means movie day. Today was Gladiator 2. It’s pretty good, with fine acting and some brilliant action scenes, but it’s let down by being nowhere near the level of the original, with an overly complicated and silly plot. An entertaining swords and sandals film.

Watching 28 Weeks Later for the first time. Everyone in this film is a moron, and shaky cam sucks.

Episode 1 of American Primeval watched. That was some seriously messed up stuff (and the real life version of the Massacre portrayed was even worse). Interesting start though.

Alien Earth episode 5 was great. Not a single nice thing happened on that ship.

Finished Countdown on Amazon Prime. A series that started slow, found its footing and became a good little action drama. Slight spoiler: Ending it on a bullshit cliffhanger is not what I wanted to see though.

The fact that American politicians are holding the snake oil salesman that is Nigel Farage to account more than our own media, is an indictment of how much the UK media are in bed with him and those backing him.

The 1st episode of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, was better than the entire first season. Mostly because I just don’t buy Chris Pratt as a tough guy out for vengeance.

I often have the weirdest dreams. Usually they’re full of monsters or magic, or something fantastical and strange. Last night I dreamt I spoke to God. Who looked like Christoph Waltz and was a cabbie. Some dreams are stranger than others.

So far in the last week I’ve had emails from several places asking me to connect so that they can increase my readership. All of them are scams, and all of them are annoying (although the Vinyl LGBTQ+ society was unexpected).
