Silent Hill F is not for the faint of heart. Probably the most disturbing game I’ve played in years.

Occasionally, someone asks me what happened to the Black Library (Warhammer) story I was writing. Short version, I wrote it, they paid me for it, they decided not to use it. So, technically I was a Black Library author because I got paid, but not really because it was never published.

The Punisher: One Last Kill is a weird thing. Jon Bernthal is, as always, amazing, and when the action starts it’s excellent, but it feels like the first episode in a series not a one off. It’s an interesting side story, but never much more than that.

4K written today. Feel pretty good about it. At least until I read it back tomorrow morning.

Ready or Not 2. Not as good as the first one, but still a lot of very bloody fun.

The UK media are having the time of their lives. They must be dangerously dehydrated with the amount of energy they’re putting into their Reform love, while baying for our PM to resign.

The people of the England have seen the mess that Brexit made, seen the mess that Reform run councils have become, heard the lies, heard the stupidity, and thought, “I’ll have me some of that.” What a disappointment.

To be honest I’m not all that fussed about the historical accuracy of The Odyssey. In the same way I didn’t care about the historical accuracy of Jason and the Argonauts.

Finished Silent Hill F (at least the first run though, still got NG+). The fighting is a bit too clunky in parts, but the setting and story are great. Still no idea what’s actually going on, but it’s genuinely unsettling even by Silent Hill standards.

This year really has felt like it's been one thing after another, but I'm finding the writing to be a cathartic way of dealing with it all. Probably why I've done so much of it.

Last year at woldcon, 3 different people asked about my ADHD diagnosis. The thing is, I didn’t have one. I went to the docs, and while I have to go through the full diagnosis process, I almost certainly have ADHD. This will apparently come as no shock to anyone who knows me.

Nothing I enjoy more on an edit than when my editor says “what does this mean?” And I honestly don’t have a clue. Past me was clearly insane.

While I write fast, I need time off between projects. Usually a few weeks is enough to relax until my brain starts itching for me to do something new. I’ve burned out in the past and have no intention of doing it again.

The author spam messages aren’t even trying anymore considering how they got my name wrong. 😂

There are few things that fire my imagination like going out for a walk while listening to music. If I’m ever stuck on a bit of story, it always helps.

Moron picks a fight with Alan Ritchson (Reacher), gets his ass beat, cries to the media, before video comes out showing he stared it. Violence is never the answer, but sometimes those who fuck around need to find out.

One day I won’t have a single email from scammers asking to “review” my books, or add it to a book club. But today is not that day.

Cross season 2 was all over the place story wise. Plots that didn’t really need to be in the season, and a disappointing end episode, complete with some serious shark jumping, made the whole thing pretty silly. Matthew Lillard was brilliant though.

Watched Wanted: Dead or Alive for the first time this millennia. A 1987 film with Rutger Hauer as an ex-cia bounty hunter. It has Gene Simmons as a middle-eastern terrorist. It’s aged terribly, but Rutger Hauer is always great, and in this he acts circles around everyone else. Weirdly watchable.

I saw someone say that you should listen to audiobooks on 1X speed because that’s how the performance was meant to be listened to. I tried and nope. It’s too slow. 1.75x feels right.

It seems that a lot of people don’t actually know what a prologue is meant to do. It’s meant to tease the story, the characters, it’s meant to be an important part of the story, it’s not meant to be an info dump.
