Just finished writing the first half of my next game, and it's time to move into the visual part. I've been dwelling on this idea of making a short visual novel for years, and now I've finally come to this point of my life where I'm both technically and emotionally ready to do so.

My entry to this year's #GMTKJam made it to the top 2% (among 9600+ games?!) at the "Narrative" category! Pretty cool. "Life Loop" is a game where you can control the loop of life. You can finish it under 5 min on your browser. Feel free to play! Link below:

Taking part in this year's #GMTKJam as well! (3 years in a row) "Loop" is a great theme that is easy to fit but hard to stand out. This time it has a new dedicated "narrative" score so I'll probably try to make a narrative-focused entry. Gonna sleep now and start the jam tomorrow morning!

To my surprise, Noah's Dilemma sold almost the same copies on Switch as it did on Steam on the first day, while I promoted the hell out of it only for the Steam release. It seems: Steam is too crowded for small games to get noticed, but Switch still guarantees decent explosure for every game.

Found two freezing bugs in Noah's Dilemma's current Switch version but because Nintendo will need to review every build, I can't get the updated version out to players as soon as I fixed them like that with Steam. Now I understand why I need a "support" section on my website. On it!

Lately I've been reading Berserk (manga). The manga itself is interesting enough, and plus, I feel like I'm reading some behind the scenes content of souls games as well. Very intriguing to see how Miyazaki incorporates those inspirations into his games.

The thirst for day-one perfection was real, but the release date of my 2nd game Noah’s Dilemma is now set. Unmovable and imminent. Time to focus on the absolute must-dos.

Trying to beat Noah's Dilemma and get all achievements before release, strangely I find this process pretty enjoyable. Considering I already spent 1.5 years making the thing and was so sick of it just a few weeks ago, this can be a good sign. Either that or I just simply like achievements too much.

I can now confirm that writing one-shot monologues for animal NPCs is the most fun part of making Noah’s Dilemma.

After 540 days (or 8 years since I first started making games), my second game and first solo work is done. See you soon!

Finished watching this year's IGF and GDCA. The set, the presentation, the hosts are all very nice. Probably the best in recent years? Highlight of the show for me is the speeches from Sam Lake and Lucas Pope. Great developers and well-deserved.

Started watching the live playback of the IGF 2025. They thanked all the *submission* first and foremost, recognized "any game that ships is a miracle," and then go on teasing indie publishers and game journalists. The IGF is still cool.

Before Steam Next Fest, my new game has 519 wishlists and only 75 people have actually played the demo (released 2 weeks ago). I'm curious to see what will happen during this fest. Not so optimistic though - there are simply too many games in the fest! I've done everything I could, the rest is luck.

Just to keep my timeline consistent, I'll post the first two blog posts I wrote last month here, before I start writing the next one. And of course they are all about gamedev... my life now is as simple(unhealthy) as 80% gamedev and 20% eating and sleeping.

The first wave of feedback hit and is getting a bit overwhelming. Not a bad thing, if I can better seperate my emotion and logical thinking. Also I need to keep reminding myself that I need to see through the problems players mentioned and find the root cause, instead of making every advice sacred.

So I released the demo and trailer of my new game today and posted it everywhere. It only made a tiny impact but I didn't find it discouraging at all - because I know what I could do on a personal level is nothing compared to the algorithm of Steam Next Fest. Today was a good rehearsal of a launch!
