When I come back from my hiatus, Toadhouse will not be doing short form content. I don't like it, it's bad for your brain, and I'm not gonna put time and energy toward something that actively makes life worse. That's the opposite of my studio's mission.

You know what I hate? I go on my phone for a few minutes, trying to find something mildly interesting or entertaining for a bit before bed. And I succeed for 5 minutes until the next scroll shows me something awful and traumatic. There has to be a better way. At this point, my phone is useless.

Let's talk creativity and hunger. When you are financially unstable, all your creativity goes to surviving. How you'll get your next meal. How you'll take care of yourself and your loved ones. Your creativity and resourcefulness is all tied up in problem solving. And this is often with a job.

SNAP benefits kept me alive and fed for years. I was working the entire time, because that was part of the requirement for me to keep them. It's enough to not starve but you aren't living large. I mostly ate mashed potatoes. It's confusing how many people confidently parrot incorrect information.

I worked a summer at Dominos. It was me and two drivers, that's it. If you ordered one cheesy bread, I had two minutes to put it in the oven. However, if you ordered 20 pizzas for a party, I also had two minutes to put it in the oven. It was incredibly punishing.

Inclusion is good business. More people playing your games means literally more people playing your games. Remember to consider accessibility during the planning stages (the beginning) of your game dev process.
