in the progress of trying out higher res artstyles and other animation methods, i'm having spriting culture shock when I suddenly need to actually draw details rather than shade some pixels to represent depth

So, for the actual game release of the demo I put out a while back I want to have about 12 NPCs that can do the same actions the player character does. The current player spritesheet is 54 sprites, for 12 NPCs leaves us with ~648 sprites total Oh boy
