It's time to deep-dive into NATS (docs.nats.io). It powers Pipestack (through an abstraction layer) and provides a lot more than what I've used so far.

For the web developers out there, you don't have to keep using ESLint.

All Wasm Components provided by pipestack.dev live in a Rust monorepo. It took 11 attempts 😅 and I now have knope.tech configured to create changelog files per component and create a GitHub release for each. Then, each component gets published to an OCI registry from where Pipestack picks it up.

There we go, the LLM-generated code is gone. It's 30% more code than the single file written by the LLM, but now it's maintainable and easy to understand where to find what. Not to mention that extending it with additional nodes and providers is dead simple.

There are two ways to deal with tech debt: 1️⃣ Deal with it 2️⃣ Complain about it The first one is, without exception, the way to go. However, the second one is easier and some people prefer that over getting the work done. I worked with people who preferred 2. It was demotivating and annoying.

I have a service in pipestack.dev that was mostly written by a LLM. It converts a pipeline yaml config to a more elaborate yaml config needed to deploy the pipeline to wasmCloud. The service has tests, works perfectly fine, but costs me time to maintain with every change. LLMs: Great to prototype

Every time I catch myself troubleshooting a customer issue with internal tools customers don't have access to, I pause. Then, I write code to expose the metrics, logs, etc in question in the API, web app, and CLI. Customers can now investigate on their own, and it helps with transparency!

Here I am, building a platform to run pipelines based on Wasm Components, thinking it's pretty cool. Then I learn @bruhks.bsky.social builds a CLI where commands and plugins are Wasm Components, with all the benefits that brings. There's a high chance the `pipestack` CLI will follow that pattern!

Blindly accepting LLM-generated code is like outsourcing 10-15 years ago. You get code and it likely compiles and runs, but it takes way more time to explain things, verify the results, and maintain it over time.
