I haven’t been as active here as I’d like, but I wanted to share that I received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Criminal Justice! I am so excited for this next chapter.

Something I’m being intentional about is enjoying my breaks. I did work this winter break (two R&Rs and a new paper completed/submitted), but I also traveled to Hawaii! Here are two of my fave pics!

I am so excited to have reached 500 citations! I am thankful to get to do this work and focus my efforts on media and crime, domestic violence, and women’s issues in the criminal justice system. I am also thankful for my fabulous co-authors/colleagues.

What are the things going well for your classes this semester? For me, my course book clubs seem to be going very well! I love hearing students’ insights about the material and how they apply the books to course concepts.

I think one of the worst quirks of online spaces is the idea that if someone doesn't post about something, they don't care about it. It encourages performative posting often makes things worse. I care a lot. I just don't want to add another poorly-informed voice. I'm reading & thinking.
